what should i do before the real fun?

Ok, so you find yourself in a lucid dream. What can you do to improve quality/vividness and length before you do whatever it is in a dream. I always find my self going in to the action to quickly and I lose the unvivid and short dream.

Should I look around for detail in my surroundings? Should I spin around or swing my arms? Or keep telling myself I'm dreaming? Or eat and drink tons of dairy before I go to bed? Haha I can do this all day. Any thoughts?

      Hi,

      You've got the right idea.
Right after you enter lucid dream you try to keep yourself calm and stabilize it (I usually stabilize by looking at my hand intensively).
Telling yourself with full confidence that your dreaming few times might increase your dream awareness.
So basically it could lower possiblity of losing lucidity.

Mixing those things might prove useful aswell
Example: Looking at your hands intensively while repeating mindfully i'm dreaming... i'm dreaming... etc.

Some stuff i suggest you to read:

      And now... Goodluck

      1. a few RCs
      2. stabilization and anchoring
      3. convince yourself that it's your dream and you have unlimited capabilities
      4. remember your goals for lucid dreams

Another good method is to create a food you really like, for example a warm apple pie. Then focus on smelling it, looking at it, and tasting it. This method is particularly enjoyable because it allows you to stabilize the dream while having a tasty meal!

This is a great idea, just walk up to the fridge and smell the amazing stuff that's in there.

You could do it even easier way
Think of excuse why would you have some tasty fruit like orange in your pocket and say it with confidence that this fruit is in there.
Then take it out of the pocket and do the steps 4thDimension described

Walking up to the fridge is quite brilliant way aswell yet it might be troublesome if we are somewhere far far away from our house with our fridge (Unless we spawn fridge aswell )

Half the time my dream starts with me getting out of bed, so that's pretty easy, but yeah, if you're in the middle of a desert or something it's gonna be a little more difficult
