Well, if I am there thinking, "I'm bored", then I realize I am thinking, which I shouldn't be. It's about focus, clearing the mind of the junk that goes through it. Just being in the moment, present, aware.
I just think about where I'm going to be in an hour or so.
Just try to read your dream journal or go visit some lucid dream websites, it's also entertaining and also it's good for your WBTB because it sets your mind into lucid dreaming.
*Read a book
*Meditate
*Incubate a dream
*Practice MILD
*Dream journal
*Play with the cat
*Review my dream goals
*Pee
*Look at DV on my phone, though at a slant, so the glare does not awaken me too much :D
Usually I get up and go to the bathroom. Then, I look at my phone, though I shouldn't :cheeky: because then I focus on things other than dreaming. Reading a book or reviewing your dream goals or journal are good ideas though.
You can also just go to sleep and have a lucid dream :)
A lot of good ideas have already been mentioned, but if nothing else you could have a small snack (be sure to brush your teeth afterwards though). If you are able to go out you could try taking a quick walk, although this might wake you up too much. Also try a bath. The warmth might be good for helping you back to sleep.
