Lack of motivation
I want to become a proficient lucid dreamer so much, yet i am always stymied by a lack of motivation. A couple summers ago, i "got into it" and had a couple lucid dreams, but eventually i stopped writing down my dreams and it faded away. Since then ive tried getting back into it again a couple times, yet each time i eventually stop persisting it. Most recently i just cant seem to remember my dreams frequently. I gave myself the goal of just remembering my dreams daily, and it worked for about 2 weeks but then it stopped, and now i only remember them occasionally. Does anyone know of ways to keep yourself motivated?
Another thing i tried was getting up an hour early, reading a book, then returning to sleep for an hour. This proved to be a good technique for dream recall, and it helped my motivation by giving myself a clear intention everyday, yet the problem was, i was going to bed at 9 and waking up at 4:30 in the morning. I would do this every weekday, and then when the weekends came, i would stay up until 12-1ish. Then when monday came again, i wouldnt be able to fall asleep unitl later, and wouldnt be able to get up at 430, for tiredness..... So what i do ! do i trade my social life for my dream life? ahhhh i am lost on what to do, any advice is greatly appreciated

Im sorry dude, but I have no solution cuz i have the same problem. Im lacking a lotta motivation and my lifestyle sometimes doesn't allow that much sleeping or time for dream journaling either.
I can't change my lifestyle, but I sure wish I could get some more motivation. Any advice?

i think that the only solution to a motivation problem is deciding that you want to be a dreamer, and then sticking to it.
In regards to improving dream recall, maybe a recorded would be a little easier then writing them down, but then again that will take more time, as you have to transcribe but that could help with motivation. Also for myself it took me a week or two, but ever night before i goto bed i say "I am going to fall asleep, i am going to dream, i am going to realize i am dreaming, and i am going to remember my dreams' a few times. It took about a week for it to start working, but as a result i wake up a few times a night once my dreams end and then i record them, its been working for at least 2 months, even with a change in my lifestyle (free summer to school). Once you get your dream recall good, ask yourself a few times a day 'is this a dream' and then go threw the steps on how you got there.
I guess the point is, it takes time to develope so you need to be paitent and willing to keep with it, however if you do stay with it, it will be worth it.

My only suggestion is to sit down with tablet and pencil and writing down a large list of things you wish you could accomplish or do someday, the analogue example is flying- get into it though, elaborate upon where and when you'd do this. Perhaps you'd like to own a yacht, be a billionaire, participate in a Roman 'Party' (ehem). Without sounding cliche the list is endless. Then look it over, decidedly some things will not happen in your lifetime, as some are impossible or just improbable.
How can you make these things happen? You have the ability to live out these dreams/fantasies three times a night (theorhetically)...
Perhaps that is motivation enough? If you lose your motivation simply try to remind yourself of these things, look over the list, and maybe even check of the things you've done.
Hope this helps.
