Okay, so this is kind of a stupid question. Oh well.
Anyway, the question is, do you start dreaming as soon as you fall asleep? Not counting the part where you get paralasis and stuff. Thanks.

There are periods of REM sleep, rapid eye movement (dreaming) these happen every 90 minutes after you enter the first fase were hormons work and is described like mind resting, this is the fase that is important for children to grow. The times between REM periods get shorter through the night till a point were you just have REM periods after like 6 or 7 hours if I recall well.
So no, you don't lay down and dream. But that would be awesome.
Usually, no.
Sleep cycles are typically about 90 minutes. During your first sleep cycle of the night, most of that time is spent in deep sleep, and only the last bit is spent in REM sleep. As the night progresses, and you get enough deep sleep to repair and refresh your mind and body, then less time in each cycle is spent in deep sleep and more time in REM sleep.
However, some dreaming can occur in non-REM sleep also, and each person is different, so there isn't one definitive answer to this question.
only during WBTB do dreams start right away
