      Dream Recall

      Hey guys.

      Im new to Lucid Dreaming, however ive read a lot about it. Ive recently been having some issues with my dream recall, so i decided to wake up at 3AM and then wake up after 90 mins, and again and again, so that i can recall my dreams. When i woke up next morning; i could remember three dreams and i was half lucid in one dream. I realized i was dreaming during the Hipnopumpic stage when my dream was fading, so i started rubbing my hands together and got lucid.
      So my question is; is it okay for my body to wake up every 90 mins every night, or am i going to have like a heart attack or something in a month or so? I dont have any health issues though. However this technique is very useful for dream recall.

      Pretty sure you can't have a heart attack from frequently waking. But you're obviously going to be losing some sleep by getting up and journaling instead of staying in bed. I'm not an expert but I would think it could effect your hormones...perhaps raise cortisol (stress hormone) and decrease melatonin (because you can't write in the dark, right?)
      If you start feeling more tired than usual then it's probably a good idea to stop and re-evaluate. Waking up only once or twice in the night may be a sufficient alternative. I personally wouldn't want to wake up every 90 minutes every night because that sounds exhausting. But if it works for you then cool.
      If you're really concerned or have health problems I would ask an expert.
