Terrifying experience.
So today, I had six fillings done. Because I had so many to do, they decided to put me out with laughing gas. I'd been out with it before when I had my wisdoms removed back in December, so I walked in feeling pretty confident about it.
I took the sleeping pills, sat for 30 minutes, then I was helped into the next room. Just like when I had my wisdoms removed, they put some headphones on me with very relaxing music. She put the mask over me and told me it was just oxygen, and that she'd wait a few minutes before switching to laughing gas. She did a few things like check my pulse, figure out where the IV was going, then she told me she was turning to laughing gas.
I laughed after 5 minutes or so. Unlike when I had my Wisdoms removed, I couldn't keep my eyes open.
I was thrown into the worst nightmare of my life. I was standing in the middle of something terrible. People all around me were killing each other, killing themselves, and screaming. And I remember screaming as well. I remember screaming "No, no. This definitely isn't real. I'm at the dentist. I'm dreaming. I'm lucid, I'm lucid."
But I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything. I just stood there screaming and wondering why I couldn't move.
It didn't last long and the next thing I remember was waking up high as heck, being brought home, then sleeping from 11:30AM-5PM and I don't remember any dreams.
Just thought I'd share. It was absolutely terrifying. Anyone else experienced something like this?..

Sounds almost like my wisdom teeth removal. I woke up and was sort of floating above my body when they moved me. The next second, I woke up on the bed in the recovery room. They have me the sleeping pill also, but not the laughing gas.
I did have some nightmares the weeks after my rotator cuff surgery which they have me the knockout fluid or whatever it's called.

Maybe the connotations of the dentist put negative thoughts on your mind? Though you didn't seem particularly bothered about the dentist in the first place!

Sounds to me that you lost lucidity right after gaining it, as I see you were pretty much okay with going to the dentist... something coming up for me too!
