If you dont understand point of meditation try this.
I have noticed that many people dont really know how to meditate. They might sit still eyes closed but i got idea they really dont know what it is. So here try this and i promise you that you will see the reason why you even might get addicted to it trying it once. In this meditation you keep your eyes open and it takes only 5-15 minutes.
Do it excatly as i say it.
Sit in a comfortable meditative position. Pick and object any object. I suggest something that has text on it. Now look at the object at least 5 min only focusing on that object nothing else. If you start to pay attention to anything esle look harder into that object. You will see visual changes but it doesnt matter just look at the object with as much focus as you can put at it. After 5 minutes your mind should be completely silent if not focus on the object few minutes more. After the 5 minutes has passed be calm and reconize the meditative mindset you are in. Listen to sounds they should sound different. Look around. Last thing you do look into your thoughts and you should experience this clarity in mind which is the only reason i meditate. This is no spiritual thing or religious thing. Its to make sure you are meditating right way. Meditation is useless if you dont be in that meditative mindset. Also you cant force yourself to meditate longer otherwise its useless only do as long as you can keep the meditative mindset. I wish that anybody who doesnt know clearly point of meditation to try this.
The best part is that the clarity gets stronger over time when you meditate.
Tell if if you didnt notice anything impressive about it. It means then your doing it wrong. I dont think anybody could not notice the effects of it if they were doing it right. Meditation is much more than just sitting.
