Question A lot of horror dreams lately, but they sometimes raise awareness. What raises your awareness?

Lately I have been having a lot of horror dreams.

At least 3 times in the past 7 days I recall aspects of a game called outlast except im living it. Every time i am being chased or hiding, and its almost routine now. i run through the environment non-lucid so i dont know what is coming, slamming doors on my pursuers to slow them down. Its not that i even feel fear from them, its just I know what I have to do to be safe and just do what i would do in real life if i was being chased, just put objects and obstacles between me and the people chasing me(parkour/freerunning!).

I had a lot of scary dreams a long time ago would scare me and i would realize i was dreaming but I did not know of lucid dreams then and thought my awareness was just there so i could wake up from it. now if it actually scared me i could become lucid and take control! Weird but fear must highten my awareness to the strangeness of the situation better than anything else. "Sleep Paralysis" happened a lot when i was young and it scared me, now i look for it because i can just ride them out to my LD!

what emotions drive you into awareness well?

heres the one I had from last night, a outlast themed one. it was long but i lost a big chunk of it when i woke but remember that last scene.

I hate to say this but anger and fear drive me into awareness pretty well. But the good thing about them is that their paired with a lesson. However, one of the best emotion that has led to me being lucid is love. For example, sometimes protecting the ones i love would make me lucid. : 3

Outlast is a freaky game man but my buddies and I all still play it late at night The thing that gets me aware, not necessarily lucid though, is usually interaction with dream characters. Anytime I'm social in my dreams things start getting clearer and I have better memory.

Ahhh, my favorite type of dream-sign......emotions and mental states........

The biggest ones for me are

      CONFUSION.....
      BEING OVERWHELMED
      FRUSTRATION
      FEAR
      ANGER

FOATL you just gave me an idea... I am going to start RCing whenever that happens to me in reality because that happens often enough in dreams to where it would be very useful... plus it should help take my focus off those annoying feelings and direct it towards something positive. A real win - win
