Does anyone have any tips rather then keeping a Dream journal?
Thats really about it, that I know of anyways. The only way to remember is to bring the memory of the dream to reality in some way. If you don't like typing/writing, maybe you could try a video recorder, or even a video blog. Do you not like writing them down? Too time consuming? You could also just sketch down general ideas of what the dream was like as soon as you woke up, then go back to it later if you want to.
Even if its just a snippet at first, it can help.
Really pay attention to what's happening while you're sleeping. You'll find that you have dreams! The more you pay attention, the more you notice. The memory of them will be generally short-term but long enough to write in order to transfer them to longer-term memory.
1) Wake up either naturally or by alarm during or towards the end of a REM cycle. Lay still, keep your eyes closed and search for dream memories.
2) Record dreams from Step 1 with either pen and paper or electronic media.
I don't think there's any other way.
The more important you make something, the easier it is to remember. Paying attention to your dreams by waiting for them, anticipating them, noticing them and recalling them, will make the dreams more important to you and easier to remember.
