This usually never happens...

I had my first lucid dream in a while this morning!! It was different from all my other non lucid dreams because from the start of the dream I could already sense something was odd yet I didn't become lucid. And during the dream I was more aware of what was happening. For instance, in the dream it was snowing but I had no shirt on and I knew this. Also a van pulled up on my front lawn when I have a driveway... The wierd thing was though that inside the van was my friends mother and father and his mom had gray hair when she is in her late 30's?? I started recognizing odd things in the dream that I normally wouldn't in any other non lucid dream. Can someone explain why that is?

At what point did you become lucid and what triggered it?

sounds to me like you where on the edge of actually becoming lucid, but not completely. Noticing odd things in a dream without becoming truly lucid has happened to me a few times. Try to condition yourself in waking live to notice odd and weird things and then immediately do a RC like nose pinch. With a bit of luck and determination this habit carries over into your dreams, and the RC will help you become lucid.

Yes there are some strange occasions where you are almost lucid but not completely there yet :D
As Djaxup suggested, RC would probably help you in that case.
