Flying feels awesome, and pretty much like you would expect - sort of like "floating" in the air and being able to move around without falling. :content:
When I try to fly in dreams I usually start jumping (which feels pretty funny, kind of like jumping under water, at least to me), and then I start jumping higher and higher and spend more and more time in the air after each jump until I just kinda stop falling and stay in the air.
Another trick I once once was that I jumped off a building and then closed my eyes for a moment, since I imagined that this would make my brain lose track of where I was, so that I remained in the air.
This is slightly more risky though, since some people easily wake up if they close their eyes in a lucid dream.
Another thing you could try out could also be to find a lake and start swimming, and then continue swimming and imagine a destination that is actually on dry land.
My first flying lucid dream was so astounding I couldn't fall back asleep after the experience. As i was flying I looked down at the buildings and saw the perspective was changing just as it should. I thought "how can my brain be doing this?". That dream is when I realized the potential of lucid dreaming. It was better than any Disney World ride!
Only twice have I actually been able to fly properly, but both times they were very powerful experiences. If I had to describe it simply, the floating sensation is that of floating when you're underwater, and the motion and speed remind you of riding a roller coaster. At least that's how I experience it. It's pretty damn awesome :D
