I need motivation!
So hi everybody I've been on and off of lucid dreaming for about two years now and in the start I got to about three lucid a night but I eventually couldn't keep up with the practices and stopped my dj and well soon after that lucid dreaming completely then later the next year I started again but didn't get very far after two lucids as I had no motivation i mean like to write in a dj every morning and reality checks daily I just don't have motivation to do it?

Hi Superdremer!
By the sound of it, you must be doing something right if you said you were having three LD's a night :) It's not uncommon to dislike writing in your DJ, especially when just coming out of a deep sleep. I battled with that as well and found that using an audio recorder was perfect for me. Not only do you then get to keep your eyes closed (making it easier to recall the dreams and finer details), but you don't have to write anything!
It sounds like you may have been turning the practice of lucid dreaming into more of a chore than a hobby. If you find yourself growing weary while practicing, then scale it back a bit. Remember, it's supposed to be fun, not work :D

I agree with Chewnie! But to add to that, I just started using a new iphone app called "Productive". It's a simple app that lets you add a couple daily or weekly tasks you want to do (dream journaling, reality checks, etc.). It keeps track of your streaks and motivates you to have a perfect score or beat your longest streak. Just something to give a little extra push when you need it. If you don't have an iphone i'm sure you can find something similar elsewhere.

Hey there,
Sometimes that quite often works for me if I want to have a motivation boost is to stop worrying about lucidity for a little while and pay (even more) attention to my regular dreams. Sooner or later one of those really fun or awesome dreams comes along, reminding me just how great dreams themselves can be. That's normally enough for me to get my interest back up in the whole package :)

I had messaged you when you said you wanted to start at end of school or what not, but didn't hear back
I am now in the Sensei Competition but having remembered nearly 40 dreams in the last 8 days none lucid :) he he :)

Lucid dreaming is fun. Think about everything you can do once you have motivated yourself and mastered the lucidity. It's worth it. Lucid dream is like a gift to us. I know that it's tough to keep up for some people including me but with the help from others and outside sources, these will at least lessen the difficulty in accomplishing a lucid dream.
I'm really suck at giving motivation so I just want to say don't give up. Lucid dreaming is worth the effort. Don't waste your ability to attain lucidity. :B
