Hey there,
Its not true. But, it will be easier to remember dreams if you do so right after waking up, before anything else. I find that starting any sort of activity, from opening the windows to going to the toilet to brushing my teeth, will quickly decrease my dream recall. Even just thinking about what I have to do during the day can make it so I won't remember my last dream anymore.
If you've already remembered the dream though, and certainly if you've noted it in your dream journal, then the memory just becomes like any other waking memory.

It's quite possible. Recall, at least for me, decreases if I do anything other than wake up, pick up my journal, and start writing. Even walking to the computer room to journal there causes great loss of detail.
i tested it right now, its not true, if your dream is interesting and u wanna recall it, you will lol =D i started the sun few secs directly and outside is shining, nothing happened.
thanks for your answers aswell
Interesting, sunlight depletes your melatonin while darkness replenishes it, how much does melatonin have to do with the dreaming process?
