HELP Please!! I'm Having Trouble Accepting that I'm in a Dream!!

Hey, dreamers! So, this morning, I had an amazingly vivid false awakening in my room. Everything felt so real. But, there was a really weird chalkboard in my room and I knew that it had no place being there because I had no idea where it came from. I even said to myself,"No. This is way too real. But, why on Earth is that chalkboard here. That doesn't make sense. How is this supposed to be real and yet, this completely out of place object is here?" I think I even went downstairs and came back upstairs just to see if it was still there, which it was. A few months ago, I had my first LD which was triggered by seeing my little sister's deceased dog. I also had a hint of the puzzled mindset that I had in this morning's dream. But, I guess seeing my sister's dog whom had died only a few days ago back to life was crazy enough to make me realize,"Hey! This is a dream!" Even after I realized it was a dream and became lucid, when I wanted to do a powerblast, I said to myself,"Wait. I can't do that here. I'll wreck the place." as if I were still in WL. I knew that I could do the powerblast (Dream World logic), but was concerned about the consequences that it would have (WL logic).

I know it may sound simple or maybe even foolish, but, can anyone give me some tips on helping me to accept the fact that it's a dream and that WL rules don't apply? It's like I know for a fact that I can become lucid and that I can be dreaming at any given moment. But, my mind seems to still be stuck in WL logic, whether I'm in WL or Dream World. It's almost as if me being in a lucid dream is too good to be true for my mind to accept. Do any of you have any advice, tips, or words to help me overcome this mindset? I would GREATLY appreciate it. Please and thank you! :)

Actually, yes. Keep doing what you're doing :)

Lucidity isn't a yes-or-no kind of thing. We have a whole range of dream awareness, ranging from no awareness (which means no recall of the dream at all), to full awareness (where we can reason, think, and remember as clearly as when we're awake). Lucidity lies somewhere between these two extremes. That means that even in lucid dreams, you can have 'more' or 'less' awareness, false thoughts, lack of memory, and so forth. The experience you describe lead me to believe your dream awareness is steadily growing, and as your dream awareness grows, so will your ability to realize that you can make your own rules.

Keep at it, and keep reminding yourself afterwards what you could have done differently, and you'll remember it in your dream sooner or later.

Imagine what you want to do when you're lucid dreaming. When you're lucid dreaming, do what you imagined.

I know what I want to do. It's just that I wasn't able to believe that my current reality was a dream.

Unfortunately, no. And, oddly enough, there was already stuff written on the chalkboard. I'm not sure what it said, though. And unfortunately, I didn't think to RC. That's OK, though. I've got another shot at it tonight!!! Full lucidity WILL BE MINE!!!!

Imagine next time when put in the same situation, doing a power blast, not caring if you wreck the place because you're sure you're dreaming. Learn from the failure so you can succeed next time.

By imagining how you want the dream play out beforehand, you're laying out a game plan to put you in the proper frame of mind once you're dreaming. That way, when you're lucid and remember it, you put yourself on the right track. It's all memory.

You remember doing a reality check the same way, by imagining yourself remembering to do one in the future.
