Bland, boring LD?
I had another lucid last night, and it was boring! It was dark, there were no people, nothing was happening. Not to mention I couldn't change anything. I tried summoning a few characters, but no one would come! Usually there is so much happening and changing, with so much color and beauty, and everything is fluid. I've never had trouble with this before, so how do you get out of this situation?

Well! I have definitely had this problem before. As soon as I started having more aware lucids, I would find myself completely alone and with nothing to do. Not being able to bring up my dream goals was a problem. Here are some things that I have found are good.
Usually dream control is harder, but more rewarding.
Usually DCs that you meet seem to be smarter.
Usually the "feelings" are much more realistic and vivid!
Now this is just generalizing, because I have become super hyper lucid in an alien spaceport before, I have also had super easy dream control dreams while having nothing around you, and I have also had super realistic and vivid hyper aware lucids that I could barely feel anything. :P
I generally recommend learning to teleport at a whim. It takes quite a while to learn how to teleport at any time anywhere, but it is a useful ability and it gets you there faster than flying. Having a few less... epic dream goals. Maybe some stuff involving your phone, maybe just do some parkour around any place you realize that you are dreaming, or you can always meditate! My personal favorite would be to just scavenge for some good food!
What I like to do in preparation for this is pretend that I get lucid throughout the day and figure out what fun thing I can do there. If you need any help with dream control, come check out my dream control class here:
Dream Control and Stabilization

Hey there,
Have you tried imaging or thinking about specific things (places, people, objects)? Usually that's enough for me to cause them to form in the blackness. For instance, if I wanted to be in my house, I'm imagine walking up the stairs, going to the door. By the time I open it, the dream will usually have caught on and be forming. It'll still be dark, but it'll give me some dream sensations I can shift my attention to to further ground and stabilize my dream, and it'll develop on its own from there.
