Yes, the only point I was trying to make is that there is a difference between intent that works, and intent that doesn't seem to work (at least for me). There are many nights I tell myself that I intend to have a lucid dream, but it doesn't seem to be effective. Some nights I do the same thing, but I get this feeling that I am really serious about it, and more often than not on those nights I will Lucid Dream. I haven't quite figured out yet if I lucid dream because I have the right intent, or I'm going to lucid dream that night and I have more of a premonition about it. Regardless, as Sensei said, intent is certainly a component. As you probably know, LaBerge was concerned at one point that he couldn't stop having lucid dreams. As soon as he decided he didn't want them, they stopped. The subconscious is involved in the process of lucid dreaming. The intent has to move from the conscious desire to the unconscious desire.
