Was that a WILD?

I might have had my first WILD this night, but I'm not so sure.

I did WBTB as usual, but I was feeling more tired than normal, so I made some RC just in case. Then, I SSILD for a bit and simply tried to sleep, hoping for a DILD.

Suddenly, I felt really strong vibrations for about 2 secs, and when it finished my body position got messed up. My legs were above my chest as if they were always there.

I was still in my bed, so I confirmed I was dreaming with an RC. And had a 2 minutes lucid dream.

It seemed like a successful WILD, but since I was trying to sleep I was barely conscious when the vibrations started, so I could have fallen asleep already and had the vibrations inside a dream.

Also, people usually say WILDs creates amazingly vivid and lucid dreams, but mine was very hazy and unstable. My mind was not in it's best state, since I forgot to stabilize, and by body felt like it was losing energy as I moved, as if it was impossible to leave the bed. I still managed to teleport by visualizing myself outside the bed. But the dream still wasn't too vivid.

What do you guys think? Was that a real WILD or just a dream?

That sounds like a real WILD. No matter what technique is used to induce them, lucid dreams can vary widely in their levels of clarity and awareness. While some people have very vivid lucid dreams from WILD, both of my intentional WILDs have been low-clarity and very short.

I tried to WILD for about two weeks, but I was always too alert and the vibrations got my heart racing a lot.
Maybe I should stop expecting to WILD and just go with the flow if the vibrations start.

I want to add that sometimes you can also "dream" that you are WILDing. Only you know your situation (room lightning, your position in bed, etc.) so you have to analyze the situation to know if it was real, or not.

It happened to me several times while trying to WILD, that suddenly I feel that strange body position, vibrations, hear sounds or voices, etc.. and "enter" a dream. As you say, blurry, that needs lots of stabilization, and then I wake up. It's then when I see that I've been sleeping around 40 minutes, and that I have a different position I had when I was WILDing, meaning that I was really dreaming already. Even the window blind it's sometimes different.

This morning it happened again. I was in my bed, hearing a voice that suddently became clearer, and I tried to relax and stay, until I could understand the voice perfectly. It was a coworker, talking there in the dark to someone I guess. I could hear cars on the street and even though "I hope I don't wake me up". Finally I felt as if I was being dragged out of the bed, fell to the floor, opened my eyes with my dream hands and saw a blurry room. As I was touching my hands and the walls to stabilize the dream, I woke up in a completely different situation.

Personally I call those "waking up WILDs", because they always happen to me when I'm about to wake up (I still don't know) and I think I'm falling to sleep in a WILD.

Technically, it's some kind of WILD I guess... but not the real one you want, which is supposed to give you a vivid, long dream.

So in your case, I don't know what or how happened, but just wanted to share my experiences and opinion.

It's amazing when we start paying attention to how our mind works during a dream. Our minds can fool us on so many levels that it might be really hard to tell if something was real or not.

Earlier this year, I had a dream where I remembered about an invention I created a long time ago. When I woke up, I searched for it for hours until I realized I have actually never created it. The false memory was so strong that even to this date I have vivid memories of having created it. The only reason I know I didn't do it is because it breaks some laws of physics. (and I still wasted hours looking for it)

I had one dream like that where I thought I had sex with this girl who I was really attracted to and we were thing for like 20 minutes after I woke up. I felt really good and then when I realized it hadn't actually happened I just laughed and was like wow well that 20 minutes was really cool haha.

Haha, that's both sad and funny.
