Thread: Christmas Dreams

i had two short lucids tonight.
since i am sick and not able to tag my dreams at the moment my recall of the nld is poor. nevertheless I managed to get lucid (no credit for santa... sorry)

-me and two black guys. we jump out of a high window (dont remember why) i start flying and instantly get lucid. i land and high five both of them telling them that i am dreaming, that the dream already is pretty long and was cool and that i was happy to meet them but i have to go now because i have different things to do woke up after that^^

-i am in my old apartment. sit with my roommate and a friend in the living room, talk a little, my friend looks different. he tells me he had a surgery on his nose (that makes sense..). i leave the room and on the floor is a lighter. some meters later another one and suddenly i see a lot of lighters on the ground. i enter the next room and there are some cables that wire computer and playstation and stuff. it looks like electrical short because the computer is smoking and the power adapter seems broken and on the ground it is wet like leaked batteries. i enter the kitchen and there is a mixture from a waffle iron and a deep fryer. it is on and i am concerned if this is right. i change room again and think that i might dream. i do a nosepinch and i can breath but somehow i am unsure and i try to count fingers but its too dark. so i try to turn onthe light but the lightswitch doesnt work. i dont care and think about what do to with my lucid.... and wake up again...

Santa brought me an LD for Christmas. I became lucid on a hilltop overlooking a city with some pretty cool snakes chilling in the trees nearby. I ran down into the town looking for DCs to harass (and harass them I did). I ended up in a building that was hosting a small Christmas party, complete with fireplace and stockings. I live in Australia, Christmas is mid fire-ban season, but I suppose fireplaces are festive?

I annoyed some DCs with my antics, and I annoyed myself with my repeated dream control failures. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Funny, I got a little ill too. Maybe its a Christmas bug . But I've got a small, yet interesting (at least I thought so) WILD to share.

I'm still awake. I hit the bed and relax, letting my body go to sleep as I tend to do. I know I'm succeeding a few minutes later by the pleasant buzz I get and a momentarily spat of vertigo . I try not to give it too much attention though, as focusing on these sensations will only serve to waken me again. Instead I try to blank my mind, waiting for the first of the hypnagogia to come. I believe hypnagogia are actually the onset of dreams, and my previous WILDs were achieved by following the hypnagogia while my body fell fully asleep.

Then before I know, it hits me. I literally see a door before me opening in the blackness, and sort of float through. I'm bodiless at first, but as I focus on the hypnagogia the world around me falls away and I lose all sense of my waking body. I pass into sleep and dream completely, finding myself no longer in my bed but there, in that well lit corridor. It's full of light bulbs and doors leading to all sorts of wonders. I take my first few steps into this new dream, wanting to touch the walls to ground myself on the dream sensations to keep the still very fragile dream from slipping away.

Unfortunately, it does slip and I find myself back in my bed a few moments later, awake again, though with a powerful dream memory to add for my journal.

It doesn't usually happen this fast (in fact, I'm not that good at WILD'ing, so it doesn't usually happen at all ). But I was exhausted when I hit the bed, both physically and mentally. I guess that was just the right mix to propel me forward into sleep and dreaming way faster and easier then normal.
