Entering the Gates of Hell! (Discussion)

Probably not a topic I really want to discuss but it's happened a few times. How many of you have been there? Last time I was walking with a horde of people, then there was just this *hidden* entrance on the side of the street and before I got to the front of the line I saw the "pig faced" soldiers I'll call them. They began measuring my head, wanting to know how big my skull was. Apparently this was important to know as to how valuable I was to them. I want to say I was scared sh*tless and when I tried to force myself to wake up (I do this when I'm having a nightmare) needless to say it didn't work. They wouldn't allow me to wake up at first, but I continued to struggle and force my eyes open which was quite painful. I managed to escape just in the nick of time.

Share your experience and if you ever actually went through the gates let's hear what you saw.

Nobody's hell will be the same. When I went it looked like a cave with stalagmites with steaming water dripping..vampires and all sorts of nasty. It wasn't lit by any light or flame, nor was it in color. It was a black and white film looking landscape and creepy.

Oh, by the way..I went there through a black mirror in a dream. I starred at it for a little while and saw a half man half animal slaughtering himself something for dinner. He saw me and pulled me through the mirror, I didn't go voluntarily. Now I don't look at mirrors in my dreams.

I was in this dark room with fire behind our chairs. We were sitting in big circle with I don't know how many people but a whole bunch of torture methods would go in a circle really fast and I remember hearing child's laughter growing louder and deeper as the torture device would come to me.

I had a dream of sorts where I had just exited instead of entering. I wouldn't mention it except for the fact that one of the first people to encounter me on the other side was very eager to measure my dimensions; head, digits, forearms, etc. Cool overlap.

I agree with cwcamp not everyone's hell is going to be the same. In fact, I've been there several times with each time it looking different. First time it was a destroyed city with a broken raised highway and broken buildings, very dark at night (although i presume it was always night there). 2nd time again very dark at night but I was in some kind of tribal village. 3rd time I was running away from Satan in a maze.

I'd like to add something that might make you think twice about forcing awake again. What if when you die you enter a dream like state or reality and that if you die there or force awake you get reincarnated? would suck wouldn't it? LD's are supposed to help you overcome nightmares anyway so you shouldn't be forcing awake.

Interesting about the measurements. I think it means something. It was as if they collected skulls and certain ones were more sought out.

I don't think I was lucid during this part of my dream. Otherwise I would have let the dream go on and forced a way out of there instead of waking myself up. :whyme:

When I went to hell, there was a dinner party going on. Pretty boring.

Perhaps. For me it was much more scientific, as though the man was trying to identify my species based upon my dimensions like some sort of biologist. He was much more interested in my arms and digits than my head. I'm glad he didn't try to add my skull to his collection, I wouldn't have been ready for that kind of twist! :P

I was born a lucid dreamer and i believe i lost my natural ability because of nightmares. This is last one i could ever wake myself up from: I was walking in a desert land and I came in to a canyon. There was a single tree in the middle, like the ones you see in a desert prairie, and at the end was a giant cave entrance that was pitch black. I walked past the tree headed for the cave and my sister and her best friend came out of the darkness. My sister held in her hand a rusty, spiked chain and i turned around and ran to the tree while they followed me as my sister started to swing the chain above her head. I climbed the tree and she walked up to the bottom and swung the chain to hit my leg. I kid you not when I say I felt every bit of very real physical pain it caused me. I closed my eyes (in my dream) and opened them (in real life) before I could get hit again. I never had to struggle to wake myself. That was always the process for waking myself from a dream.
