Questions About An LD I Had

I just had a lucid dream last night here is what happened;

I was in this office kind of area, with white walling, a window leading out to the outside and light shinning in and there was a green plant in-front of me. I remember being like, "Oh, I'm dreaming!" And telling myself over and over again to calm down and not get too excited because I would wake up out of it.

But I ended up finding myself stuck in stationary position whilst standing up and I couldn't move all I could do was see what was around me. I tried my hardest to move but sadly I couldn't. But I guess this was a start in lucidity and a foundation to hopefully be able to control dreams and finally be able to do what I want and spend time with those I love.

I'm curious, is being immobilized in a lucid something to be concerned about and if there is any way to break out of it? Also, I read somewhere that having an LD in a very bright and clear/vivid environment is unusual, and I'm wondering as to why I had such an experience and if that is something else to be concerned about.

I hope I will have my questions answered soon.

Also...it just struck me...I do not know why all this time I thought lucid dreaming was dream control and vividness -- similar to when I astral project and do out of body...I was going to say I picked the wrong site but I guess being lucid is an essential to be able to control dreams and dream of what I desire? Hopefully lucidity is indeed essential, either way I would like to achieve lucidity more often to be able to enjoy more of my desired dreams, so I guess it's fine...ugg my mind is so in shambles right now trying to process what I truly am looking for...I apologize...

I hope this is the right place that I intended on being here for, which was to have realistic-like experiences of being in other worlds, mainly fictional-based and interacting with my otherworldly lover. Heck, even being able to just recall the regular dreams I have been having almost every night has been doing me wonders. I just want to be able to dream about a subject of desire and achieve that same level of vividness as some dreams I had throughout my life.

Lucid dreams can vary from having total control to not having much control. To being vivid and clear, to blurry or seeing nothing at all. (Hence, the name for the void) But knowing it is a dream you use it to your advantage to create, destroy or change what you see, hear, feel, smell or touch.

When you find yourself unable to move stabilizing the dream together by focusing your eyes on an object or rubbing your hands together can help put you in motion again. Although, I've managed to lucid dream without knowing these techniques and found my ways around it. Perhaps it was just patience, focus or me just applying the techniques without knowing it was a technique

Also, lucid dreaming can feel like your in another world but its taking place in your mind. Your dreaming but you know your dreaming and can make decisions without impaired thought. Even if you might not be able to remember something you can remember while awake. Its still possible that your lucid but maybe a different level of lucidity as others would say.(semi lucid or something that you just happened to forget)

Another thing I forgot to mention is that you can use lucidity to experience the dream in a different way from when your not lucid

Sometimes it happens to me that I feel my legs heavy or something. I guess it's just a lack of control. As DreamCafe mentioned, there are various levels of lucid dreams. I sometimes was able to overcome this simply by forcing the dream to change, like by the willpower itself. It works but there is also a chance that this brute force change might destabilize the dream.

For me, I believe the paralysis happens due to stimuli from my waking body seeping into my dream. We know that outside stimuli can still reach us in dreams, and we know that lucid dreams (and dream recall in general) tends to become easier as our sleep gets lighter (and closer to awakening). Light sleep close to waking is ofcourse the most likely moment for those outside stimuli to reach us (like dreaming of a loud noise just before being woken by your alarm clock), so the stimuli of our sleeping body lying unmoving in bed tend to keep us from moving in the dream (for me this mostly happens in false awakening lucid dreams).

Regardless of whether or not you ascribe to that theory, in dreams, feeding something attention tends to strengthen it. So you want to move your attention to something else and not worry about it too much (cause that'll just deepen the paralysis).
I've always been able to break this 'dream paralysis' by immersing myself deeper into the dream. I'd shift my attention and focus away from my body, and focus on the dream sensations around me. What can I see? Smell? Hear? Touch? Doing this, pretty soon my dream will stabilize and the paralysis will disappear entirely by itself, as my body goes back into deeper sleep.
