Recall Now Non-Existent
So, I had pretty decent recall - 2-4 dream remembered a night. The over week I had 6 dreams remembered whilst attempting to DEILD. I've only had 2 lucids, the 1st was painfully short (1min and half maybe), the other was short (3-5 mins).
But now, starting from about 5 days ago, I've am remembering nothing at all when I wake up. I mean nothing. There is the feeling that I've dreamed but there is nothing in my mind to tell me. I don't even remember WBTB. Usually a fragment of a dream will come to me about 3/4 into the day. But nothing in the morning.
This means my journaling has been sloppy. With only fragments to write, I haven't been as productive in journaling as I'd like to have been.
Is this just a dry spell. My sleep schedule varies but not massively. I'm always asleep between 21:30 and 23:00. I usually WBTB at 3,4,5 depending on the time I go to bed. And I get up officially at 7 for school.
I assume it is a painful dry spell. Any ways to jump out of this?

I've had this problem too. It usually doesn't last too long though mate. Its frustrating as hell. I've found that dream journalling is notoriously inconsistent. None at all for 5 days is a bit long though. Lets see what more experienced dreamers have to say, but maybe its stress?

Maybe you should try something new to practise your recall if you see that drop. I have sometimes days when I wake up with nothing in my head but when I give myself some time to think I can recall many things. You can try lay with closed eyes saying "What dreams did I had?", trying to not thinking about anything. Or saying in your mind words (people, places, things etc) which are often in your dreams and you can associate sth thanks to that. It may be even random things. It works to me very well. Don't be unmotivated because of that, just try your best and don't be too much pushy. Also: did you have alarm to WBTB or autosuggestion? Alarms can be very distracting. Maybe you're too tired, maybe too much stress as DreamSwimmer wrote.

I have just come off the back end of being ill of that affects anything. Could've been that. I do use an alarm and I think it's too alerting.
So, I'll change my alarm and see how I go

I recommend setting the alarm only for 7 o'clock and going through the night seeing how many awakenings you can catch until then. You only need awareness to catch awakenings. Training yourself to be more aware in order to catch awakenings will also train you to be more aware of your dreams. More dream awareness, less noise upon waking up, and more awakenings will all result in more recall.

An alarm can definitely be a dealbreaker when it comes to recall. If you really do need an alarm to get up in time, try to find one that is minimally disturbing, with a smooth rise in volume instead of a sudden BEEP-BEEP-BEEP or something :)

Well I think it's over now. I remembered 4 dreams last night, the last two being exceptionally vivid. This was without a WBTB and a couple of natural awakenings throughout the night.
Thanks for the suggestions about the alarm. I think I will swap mine out :)
