Whenever I try to Lucid Dream FILD, The fan in my room is on. Normally I can fall asleep with the fan on, but I wonder could having the noise of the fan interrupt my lucid dreaming attempts?

I don't think so. It might even serve as a nice anchor for a WILD/FILD attempt! Although, if you feel like the fan keeps you awake or harms your concentration, you might want to turn it off.
What do you mean by anchor? With FILD, I mean isn't my finger already the anchor?
Yeah, but that is actually not a great anchor. Better anchors are mental ones or sounds that can go into your dreams. Personally I think mental anchors are better than almost all else, but that might be personal preference. However, when going into the dream state, you are trying to anchor your consciousness, so why would you anchor it to something in the waking state. If the sound of the fan follows you into dreams, then it is perfect, but if it doesnt, then your awareness will leave at the same time as the fan sound.
Personally I've had the closest luck with FILD, so I will stick with it, but are you saying the fan sound shouldn't be a bother to me?
I never used external noise as an anchor before, but some level of noise shouldn't bother your lucid dreaming attempt.
By "some level" I mean - if it's something that would bother you normally when you sleep, it will likely bother you this time too. If it's not usually bothering you - there is no reason to worry about the noise this time (since falling a sleep is a part of WILDing)... Specific examples from my experience:
My loud AC isn't going to bother me, because I know I can sleep normally without it interrupting.
My neighbors' night parties bother me sometimes, but it doesn't matter if I just try to sleep or try to LD, they bother me either way.
If you're used to the white noise of the fan or it helps you sleep, it should be beneficial, if anything. You just don't want any loud or startling noises. The fan could be used to help you get in the zone.
