DEILD Problem :(

Heyy everyone! I have a problem with DEILD. Before going to sleep, I stare at the darkness at my eyelids for about a minute and I also say the mantra "I will awake in my dream without moving", as I drift off to sleep. And then when I wake up in the middle of the night, I naturally don't open my eyes at all, which is a good thing, but I always move. How do I make myself not move upon waking?? And can you still DEILD after moving?? Thanks.

Although it's ideal not to open your eyes or move (and even better if you can manage to recognize the dream ending and begin the DEILD attempt even before you've completely awoken), it's not necessarily a guarantee to failure. It's probably better just to stay focused on the dream and on getting back into it than to worry too much about what might or might not kill the attempt. If you are able to not worry or pay any conscious attention to the movement at all, it might not even be a problem.

I agree with Travis. Some of my successful DEILD attempts have started with me rolling over to get comfortable or checking the time on my alarm clock. I prefer to wake from a dream without moving or opening my eyes when trying to DEILD but know it's not the end of the world if I don't.
