Hi, had anyone here ever tried to do drugs in his lucids ? Is my brain capable to simulate LSD's effect even if i have never tried it ? Im a daily stoner ,a regular drinker and i 've experienced ecstasy and MDMA ocasionally. Could my brain make me reexprience those feelings in my lucids ? I hope you 've got the answer.;-)
^^ Sure, your dreaming mind can probably reproduce those feelings, especially if you've experienced them in waking-life (giving your memory something to reference beyond just your basic expectations). But I for one don't know why you'd want to do so, since I'm pretty sure that LD'ing offers a potentially much better "high" than any drug could.
I've never tried recreational drugs in RL or in a dream but I think that our brain is capable of simulating their effect - especially if we read about these affects from other people's accounts, or if we did / do these drugs in RL.
I think so based on several reasons:
1. I did get drunk in a dream before (before I've ever gotten drunk in real life) - and it felt amazingly similar to what I think it feels like in real life.
2. I had a friend in high-school who was "very enthusiastic" about LSD, mushrooms and weed - he was also a lucid dreamer and we actually had this exact conversation and he told me that he tried a new drug in a dream and that it felt like he read it would. He also did his regular drugs in dreams and said they usually felt just like in real life (but sometimes lasted more or less time, or had a weaker or a stronger effect - so there is some variability).
Actually, this was a LD goal of mine - to try drugs in a lucid and see how they're simulated. For some reason, I forgot about it and never done it - thanks for reminding me! haha
I agree with the no drugs thing. Lucid dreaming is a natural high in itself. I personally only take prescribed meds & quit drinking about 2 yrs ago.

Sageous and elaineylane , LSD is something hard to find here in Morroco and im very entousiastic about trying it .Maybe drugs don't make a part of your intersts but it will be very fun if you experience LSD's hallucinations while you re flying above a beautiful city lights for example.

I've gotten drunk or done drugs multiple times in dreams--in fact, it was a Task of the Month a few months ago. You might want to check out that Task of the Month thread. Alcohol and marijuana both feel close to the real thing when I use them in dreams. I've also done drugs in dreams before I ever actually tried those drugs, although I didn't get effects that were close to what I experienced when I actually tried them. One time I did shrooms in a dream and saw sparkles on everything, but then I became lucid and the sparkles stopped. It wasn't very similar to actually being on shrooms.
i agree with you , hash causes a very deeeep sleep periods ,especially in he first half of night . Although , it dosen't affect my dream recall ( i record 1-4 dreams per night ).i will try to decrease my consumption or at least try to change my habit of sleepin stoned as hell by stoping 3 hours before sleep time .Thanks for the advise.

I think LD'ing produces superior states of mind than a simple drug high -- or even a complex drug high, and focusing on those states in dreams will yield much more interesting results than trying to copy what you got from a pill in waking life. If you initially got to those states by trying to mimic the effects of a waking-life drug, that's just fine (and pretty cool, BTW), but that is not the only way to get there, and indeed might make getting there a bit harder because your dreaming mind is bound by expectations of the waking-life drug high.

Aside from the hallucinations, one major fraction of the LSD experience is that it tends to remove you from your Self.
Self-awareness is the center of the LD'ing experience (it, in my mind, literally is lucidity), and without it you are simply not lucid. Hallucinogenics "work" because they create a world of unique sensations and imagery that takes command of your perceptions and potentially your identity. This escape from reality, or trip, is the whole point of taking the drugs (with LSD, the escape can be personally felt, ironically, as seeming to encounter what is really real). Though retaining self-awareness still results in an excellent experience, abandonment of self-awareness is almost a requirement to fully enjoy the trip: when self-aware during a trip, everything can seem to become more real than real, with every stimulus around you amplified, and you might feel an almost non-dual connection with your surroundings, but the incredible "swept away" hallucinogenic experience is missed. In other words, a true hallucinogenic experience is a non-lucid experience... there's nothing wrong with that, but in order to replicate a drug trip you would need to abandon lucidity -- and, once lucidity is abandoned, so too is your ability to properly replicate the drug experience.
So: truly mimicking the hallucinogenic experience would mean letting your Self go in order to be properly swept away, which would also mean your dream is no longer a lucid one. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as great things can happen in the context of NLD's, where you believe your dreamworld and its contents to be real... And then we're back where we came in, at least in terms of the question you assume I posed above: since your unconscious is an engine of hallucination that easily outpaces anything LSD can produce, it might be much better to try to tap its potentials rather than try to replicate the relatively limited experience of a waking-life drug (emphasis on "relatively" ).
Add all that to the what you already said (that basically the actual LSD experience has more surprises in it than the user might be aware of or ready for) and trying to replicate a drug trip in a LD does not make a lot of sense to me; no question.
