It took me about 3 weeks to have my first intentional lucid dream. I had had many as a child but never knew what they were and just used them to wake up (always induced by nightmares).
Also, this question is asked often, so if you search for similar threads you'll find more answers.
Started trying to LD in december 2015. First LD happened march 11:th 2016, but it only lasted a few seconds due to me becoming too excited. I gave up for a while between december-march, in february mainly. The LD was totally random.
Though I have to mention that I recall that I have been dreaming a lot more since I started and the dreams are more vivid (I got kissed in a dream for example and despite me not being lucid, it felt very real and the warm feeling I felt afterwards was amazing).
But I hope I will have another LD soon that will last at least a couple of minutes or so, for starters :P
My first lucid happened when I was a kid, at 5 and it was a lucid nightmare.
The first induced lucid took me 8 years to get it.
Took me a week to get the realization and another week to get another lucid where I didn't wake up immediately. Now that I started LD'ing again after 4 month break it took me 5 days to get the realization and the next night I got lucid that lasted 5-10minutes.
I had my first intentional lucid dream on my fourth night of trying.
3 - 5 days dont remember good :D
16 years I guess? Because my first lucid dream was spontaneous and happened without me trying (same for the next 6-7 lucids after that).
As for how long it took me to achieve my first lucid when I actually started trying to induce one - I got one on the second night I tried. (I used the wake up after 6 hours, repeat "I will be lucid in my next dream" or something similar 20-30 times, go back to sleep - method)
