Thread: Dream Hero League - announcement, would you recruit?

This sounds great! I've read similar-but-old threads with a similar idea and i really liked it, i would definitely join this after i get some skill for lucidity and consistency. I would limit myself power-wise as to keep things fun and challenging.. As such i would probably take my dear sword and some magic to add up.

I'd avoid an end state like "destroy the Source" or Hukif will finish the whole thing in a single night and where will that leave us?

As I was reading it really reminded me of the anime one punch.Sounds like fun but does that mean we can limit ourselves to few weapons or powers?I don't see why you couldn't defeat all these monsters in one night(Especially with that one punch power xD) but it'd be more interesting to read if there was actually effort put into it.

lmao, I wouldn't mind destroying a few worlds.
But more than anything I'm a villain so there is no problem at all.

Man, lot of thought and effort on this, did you talk to mods for changing the name color? Or is that just in here?

Sign me up. Let me know what the plans are, I'll definitely join up. Especially if FM and Hukif are on board. I love fighting in dreams. I won't be doing any "interrogating" if torture is involved, but might use some occlumency in dreams to get it. I am quite good.

When are we starting?

Ofc I'm in, you know how much of a dream fight freak I am, and will continue to be.
Totally up for new challenges and destroying things.

Sounds good if I can get my head round the rules I mean the way it is set up ... I only read once so I am sure it will be clearer as it gets started up - I am getting my head round the fighting thing as I am such a boring ' love and peace girl' in general although I would fight for the good for sure if I needed to - I would first use love which is a very powerful weapon

But sometimes it's the demons that need tobe faced right and I am ready to face them for sure - anytime! So I can approach it that way I think

And so I deffinatelly see myself as the Hero as far as my own dreams go - I guess that means I could be in sometimes!

Yeah I think it might be a good idea to limit our powers to only a few. This way all of us gets more "personality" as Dream Heroes as well. Also there could be a rule that if you manage to take down an opponent using only the powers you have chosen, your points earned will be doubled. Sounds good?

1. If the Black-task reward stays the way it is ( name colored for 6 months), then it would be only here. It can be changed to one moth as well, then the mods probably could agree to color it if they liked the concept It would also attract more participants that way I think, and The Board would be easier to understand for new participants. I'll ask them. EDIT: If they agreed, the color would be silver. Red and gold would crossover with Admin's color and TotM's color.
2. I think that idea is getting crossed over, because what good would it be if Hukif had already destroyed their secret lair? *

In a nutshell :

• Green tasks : 2 Points, 1 extra task that gives 1 point
  Yellow task : 5 points, extra task that gives 2 points
  Red task: 10 points + A Silver Star
  Black task: 50 points + A Golden Star

• R- Tier: 0 Points
  C-Tier: 3 Points
  B-Tier: 15 Points
  A-Tier: 50 Points
  S-Tier: 100 Points + A Silver Star
  SS-Tier: 120 Points + A Golden Star
  
  
  You fail to win the battle or have visual contact of the opponent : 1 point
  You complete all the monthly tasks : 10 extra points
  
  You can gather as many points and stars as you can

• You complete a Red-task: your name/Dream Hero name will be displayed in Red.
  You complete a Black-task : your name will be displayed in Gold.

(I probably should have put it this way to the original post too.)

* Any suggestions for a new main goal besides protecting the Dream Characters? It could also be the only goal to simplify things
** I'm thinking that the new tasks could be out-ed every 15th of each month, so the DHL's and TotM's tasks wouldn't stack up right at the start ?
1. Should Black-task's reward of name color ( Gold ) be lowered from 6 months to one month as well?
2. What about the idea of selecting only a few dream powers and fighting using only them. + The idea of point doubling if you defeat an opponent using only those selected powers.
3. Hows the Points? Do you think that Red-task should give more points or should SS-Tier require 150 Points to be entered etc.?

I agree since limiting powers is practically better for both challenge and fairness. Also, why not make it so that the black/hard targets would grant you an ability or weapon when you defeat them? For example, the king of fire would give you a fire-related weapon or a fire-related ability. This would make it more dynamic instead of being stuck with the same abilities/weapons all the time.

Double points would be better, but i would prefer the limited-abilities-route in the first place.

Keeping the town or city structures from being destroyed could be another goal and the date sounds good to me.

Yeah, they should be lowered. Maybe two or three months?

I like the point doubling but I guess it would be interesting to have enemies giving you weapons. Although I prefer it to be like Hero Academy or One punch the anime.

Actually I looked at the picture example you gave and I think its fair. Having enough points do the SS-Tier sounds fair too.

I like the main goal as it is similar to what I do with Zödra. I have found that it is actually pretty hard to protect dcs when the other guys have dream powers. When they are travelling back in time to annhialate an entire race and have locked the time space continuum so there is only one way to go back in time, surrounded by people with dream powers, it is very hard to break through. Took me and 3 dcs to infiltrate the facility, and when going back in time, we managed to stop the genocide in a way. It was changed from killing a race of people to random people. Same amount died though. Very solemn dream though, seeing hundreds of thousands of innocents die.

1) dunno, maybe just have it 3 months if 6 is too long.

Very interesting to me, it would bear the question on if we could do it and then repeat it for the extra points later without the powers or with only the selected powers?
3) do the points reset? I feel like the black task is a lot, but if it is once every 6 months, then that would be fine. If it is once every 3 months or every month, it should be lowered.

Oh! Reading dream cafe's post, do we have to qualify for missions? That would be awesome.

I like the idea of this. Iv'e never really fought in LDs before and this might give me enough reason to. Iv'e tried summoning swords before but I remember them being like rubber.

This is great! Count me in, that would be a good motivation to LD. I love the way you organized all this!

Actually, considering this is somewhat based off one-punch man, I would totally like playing the role of Garou.
The idea of having only a few powers allowed is really cool too, do that in dreams often in order to make fights more interesting.

Also, what about making tiered tasks.
Nobody, not even the SS rank can make it unless a certain role is played by at least one person per rank? This way, everyone will be included and allows everyone to participate on the greater good of the dream world.

1. Double points without using dream powers will probably happen, great idea! This would be so that for example Green- tasks would provide more points to lower tiered people and help them climb the tier-system more quickly ( because they might not be able to succeed in the yellow task nor red task). No, in my opinion I don't think that being able to repeat the mission once completed would be good.

2. The points are permanent. Yeah actually I think the yearly tasks might be better to be " 6 month tasks" with 2 different battles ( so there would be 2 black tasks on display, not 4 for a year). It would save a lot of space in the Task-info tablet, especially if * comes to play.

1. You can role-play any character you want ( except someone over-powered like Dr. Manhattan ). And yeah the dreams would be really cool to be read!

Updates ( Probably the second last before I'm launching the DHL Introduction thread soon to the Lucid Experiences -> Lucid Challenges - section( where all the important information will be located) and the first missions on the 15th! Bring up any last ideas, thoughts suggestions etc. forward now.)

Black-task's reward of Golden name will be lowered from 6 months to 3 months.

Double points without using any dream powers will become a thing.

Yearly tasks ( 4 ) will be changed to 6 month - tasks ( 2 ). It will save up space on the Mission Report.

* I'm thinking of adding two more tasks to the Mission Report ( It might become a bit long, since then there will be 8 tasks instead of 6 tasks on display simultaneously. But I think it will work ). The new tasks would be ( ? ) :

• One extra Yellow-task that requires rank B to be completed ( and it might have the extra mini task added into it or not)/ One extra Red-task, that requires rank A to be completed. It will give out 15-20 ( ? ) Points on completion, but it wont give a Silver Star. These two alternatives would switch every other month.

• One extra task, that requires you to be a certain character ( like Superman for an example ) or you must use certain powers to defeat the opponent. The task will give out 15 points ( ? ). The color could be white.

Now that there would be 2 more tasks to get points from, the SS-Tier should require 150 points to be entered, I think.

Pfff Dr. Manhattan isn't that powerful. I have eaten him and stuff like The Beast and ToAA several times for dinner.
Think on stuff tiered higher than them for real battles, like the silver-weird-guys who killed The living tribunal, or Demon Bane and the like I would say.
