Shapeshifting, and transformation issues

I have always wanted to try out shapeshifting. Specifically I think it would be awesome to try out the body of the opposite gender. I am male for reference. When ever I get to that point in a dream I always black out, and wake up. I have tried using Transformation pills, Magical potions, Magic Medallions, even tried possessing people. All have the same result, it is like the screen goes black. I try to stabilize as best I can. Even when it feels like an incredibly stable dream. I still have the black out problem. Do you guys have any suggestions of how I can overcome this hurdle?

Maybe just start with something simple like your hand just to get a feel for it then progress from there.

That is a pretty good idea Dreamwalker. I tend to get to far ahead of myself.

The two times I played with transformation I went for being a wolf. I just jumped down forward onto the ground and started running. I couldnt see myself but saw my shadow wolf form next to me. Seemed to work for me.

I have read that as a suggestion also. "Just be them" It is something I will definitely have to try.

It took me 3 years but I can shapeshift now whenever I like yay! I have had a couple of really interesting transformations. I transformed into a friend and saw life from her perspective, and I was Christina Scabbia from the band Lacuna Coil

Yeah, shapeshifting is fun to do. Glad you got a better handle on it.

I've shape-shifted to animals, other people, plants or even objects and you know, even ghosts. I have turned into; a dragon, an ant, some famous people, a baby, an old person, and I turned to even into a birch tree. I've also have turned my arms into wings in one of the Task Of The Month, not to mention to the shrinking and growing tasks.

I would love to read some of those dream journals if you are willing to share? it always intrigues!

Being other critters are my fave type of dreams. Usually, I don't have a drawn-out process. I am just like "I am an owl now" and I am one. No need for a cool magical girl transformation or anything, though that sounds cool to try.

When you were your friend in the dream, did you feel yourself changing physical and mentally? For example, when I started to change to one of the dream characters in my dream, I remember feeling everything that person would feel. I caught myself acting like that person. It's hard to explain.. I noticed the little things like their ticks and their mannerisms.
I've also felt those things when I overshadow someone.
Same with an animal, do you feel yourself acting like an owl or whatever you transform into?

For that particular dream I did feel what her body was like. I talked in her voice which was strange, but fun to hear coming out of my mouth! I did not have her mind or mannerisms really, although I think that would be a really cool experience! For this transformation I really did not feel much of the transformation itself. I will post the dream brief dream journal I have. The other dream that I had that turned into Christina Scabbia was a bit more graphic a transformation.

"I was in a house that was not familiar. It was almost like a log cabin. Something ticked in my brain and I did a reality check. I made my way to the bathroom, and saw myself in the mirror. I thought of my lucid goal then went for it. I reached for the sink put some water in my hand then proclaimed "this magic potion will transform me into x". I saw and felt myself shrink down into her. It was a fairly fast process, that felt like a tingling. I shrank 10 inches in height, and lost 70 pounds. My clothing shifted into her black t-shirt and black jeans. I was my friend clothing and all in the mirror. I felt the weight of the long black shoulder blade length hair on my head. I felt the weight of having breasts on my chest. I then said to myself "whoah I am x"! Then I kept saying stuff in her voice which amused me. I decided I would walk around a bit, It felt so bizarre I had her hip sway and wiggle. I also had the the distinct feeling of having a really tight pair of panties on that cupped my crotch and undercarriage in a way that I never thought possible. It was almost like phantom limb between my legs. I walked around the house a bit then went outside, it was really bright and sunny. I walked down a sidewalk for a bit then woke up."
