Was I Close to my First LD?

Hello, last night I had a long and strange dream and I woke up during it. It took me a couple of seconds to wake up but I don't think I was really aware until I did wake up. Was this almost my first DILD and if so how can I become aware during it instead of waking up and then becoming aware.

I have also been trying ADA but sometimes I forget about it when I'm doing something or when there's nothing going on and I don't know what I should be noticing, any suggestions?

You were probably gaining more and more awareness the more you were drifting towards wakefulness, which is usual. It could have been your first DILD if the dream was still intact with you inside of it, but sounds like the dream had already faded. You were close! You could try practice noticing when you're waking up, so you could try to DEILD back in.

DEILD guide 1, DEILD guide 2

If you do manage a DILD and you find yourself waking up, you can try to stabilize the dream with initiating your senses into the dream and more into your dream body. Spinning is a really effective way to stabilize. Also rubbing your hands together is pretty common and shouting voice commands to stabilize. Try crawling too if you feel like it ! Stay calm and accustom yourself to the dream world.
