      Medieval/Middle-Earth LD: Anybody done it?

Since it is possible, has anybody had an LD where they were in medieval times? This could include Middle-Earth and other medieval-like fantasy worlds as well. For those who have done this, would you mind describing your experience? For example, were you in a battle, a village, a royal castle, etc.

This is my biggest LD goal, so I was just curious to see if any others have done this before.

Yah, I think that was a goal of the month (or something like that) a while ago. I've done it before. It is quite interesting seeing everyone's reactions as I flew through a city. It ended with me being burned at a stake. I'm sure many others have had LDs about this before.

I have been in middle earth a bit, but mainly Hyrule. I like to go through dungeons and things like that. Super fun to see what puzzles and enemies are put in different places in different rooms. Also I have spent a lot of time in Aincrad, for sword practice.

Thank you both for your responses.

And WOAHHH SENSEI wait wait wait, you visited Aincrad from SAO?!?! So you had an animated lucid dream? Or was it Aincrad but in "real life" graphics?

Both! I have been there a lot of times (i want to say 20) but haven't been able to get it persistent. Planning on reworking on that soon. When using a console (nervegear) it was always animated, when using a normal teleporting technique it was like 50-50.

I've always wanted to assemble one of those giant, cliche medieval armies and face off against another army led by some kid of vice of mine (biting nails, procrastination, etc) in this epic battle. As my army slowly starts to win, I face off against my vice and eventually defeat it, hopefully helping me in the real life as well. I've gotten close to this once in an LD, but whenever I start giving a Braveheart-esque speech I usually get too excited and wake up

I've faced my fair share of armies with a small group of DCs. It makes it interesting when you add that I have a black belt in martial arts and can use time dilation to slow everything but me down to half speed. It's much easier with magic and AoE attacks. Choosing music also makes it much more epic.

Music selection can determine the whole flow and fun of a fight. Which martial art? I need one of those... lol.
I usually speed enemies up. It is more fun if you are kicking butt too easily.

This is so cool. Thank you Therome, Sensei, and Him.
Now I have even more questions lol, sorry if Im being annoying but I just find this so interesting.
So, can I spawn a GIANT army, LOTR style, and fight another GIANT army? Or is that too advanced or complicated for the brain?
Sensei: Can you control whether the dream is animated or not, or does your subconscious decide for you? Also, what is an animated dream like?
Him: You can play music in an LD? Is this just whatever music your subconscious happens to know?
Therome: Thats a great idea, I might try it.

It's all good. If we didn't want to answer questions and talk about this, we wouldn't. Haha.
I always say "anything is possible in a dream" there are obviously things you can't do in a dream, but that is just like... waking stuff. If you can imagine it while awake, it can definitely be done in a dream. If your brain could comprehend seeing it while awake, why would it have trouble comprehending while asleep? I guess my idea here is that you are thinking like these things are being created or renderedblike they would be by a video game engine, but it is more like a TV screen with each sense, it will take the same processing power watching a single fire as it would take to see the battle of 5 armies.
Both! Basically, if I play a lot of video games or watch a lot of animated stuff, or teleport to a world, there is always a chance of animated dreams, but I can always make it animated if I want to. Especially if I purposefully teleport somewhere animated.
Haha, well it is animated. This actually might take less processing power because the graphics are lower. but it is quite easy to do animated, it is a lot less detail than other dreams or waking. The biggest difference is probably when interacting with objects. Sometimes it seems like you are touching the objects like they look (smoother than usual and just... less frictiony) and sometimes it feels like the animation only affected your eyes, so when you touch something it feels like that object would feel if it were not animated.

Thank you for your time, Sensei. And yes, I was assuming that the brain was like a computer, and that it could only render so much. But your answer that the brain can handle huge plots just as easily as simple ones is awesome news. This means that I will be able to have large scale battles. Also, I cant wait to visit Aincrad and other animated dream locations. Once again, thank you for your response. The people on this forum are so nice, its like the complete opposite of the rest of the internet! (specifically the youtube comment section)!

If you have the music memorized and you can remember it instantly off the top of your head, you can play it but there is something special about music in a dream that I haven't seen here discussed at all. In waking life, you listen to music with your ears. You also hear at different dynamics, (loud and quiet). But when you're asleep, you don't listen with your ears, you feel it in your consciousness. When playing music, I try to imagine it being played soo loud that if I were to listen to it in waking life, my ears would rupture and I would feel the sound waves. Translates to some epic bass and kick ass music while you sleep.

Try to memorize a song line for line, bar for bar. Then play it in a dream as loud as possible.

My dream world can't decide if it wants to be modern or medieval often so it is not rare that I walk out of the a normal everyday's life city into the green fields and suddenly stumble across a fortress with two medieval armies battling against each other.
Of course I can't resist to take part in such battles. So, I would say that I had quite a few medieval dreams but mixed with modern elements.
