couple of questions about lucid dreams in general

had my first two lucid dreams last night, and i was really happy about it, but i have a couple of questions.

1- when i was lucid in the first dream, i had a LOT of control over what was going on in the dream, like, i was shooting lightning out of my fingertips and going all dbz on people and stuff, and i couldn't even do that stuff back whenever i used to be very into lucid dreaming and would have 3 a week. so, i was really happy with the amount of control i had.

then, in my next dream, i had no control at all. i went outside and tried to fly, and just fell right back on the ground. i tried to jump even slightly higher than usual (over a fence) and i couldn't manage that. it was so awful that even one of the DC's was laughing at me lmao.

so, why would i have so much control and power in one dream, then none in the next?

2- DEILD inside of another dream? i had a FA this morning, but didn't realize it was a FA, and initiated DEILD while already in the dream. it worked, tho, when i opened up my eyes i was in my basement and knew i was asleep, whereas before in the FA i was in bed and thought i was asleep still.

3- after i actually become lucid, all of the tasks and stuff that i wanted to do, i completely forget. when i was lucid in my second dream, i remembered to try and fly and superjump, things i've always wanted to do, but after those failed, i just completely forgot what i was doing it seemed like, and just went around my neighborhood getting blowjobs from random girls. it was a really boring dream and really underwhelming lmao. so, how can i actually remember all the stuff that i've wanted to do in the dream after i actually get in the dream?

      thanks!

      Congrats on your lucid dreams!

1-Your expectations of your abilities are different during the dreams. Your conscious expectations during the dreams may be the same, but your subconscious expectations can still be different.

2-If you DEILDed during a FA, it would be classified as a DILD, not a DEILD. However, it can be tricky to decipher whether you had a FA or not. When I have these sorts of dreams, I decide whether or not I had a FA based on whether I heard the usual ambient noise I wake up to.

3-You lost motivation to remember what you wanted to do after what you tried didn't work. You just need to motivate yourself to remember your dream goals. Try to remember your dream goals next time.

Can you expend on how that happens between two dreams? How has the subconscious expectation shifted so quickly?
Hinting at your other thread, could we describe a scenario when a person has
      a first dream:
The person has no goal, they're simply travelling through the dreamscape. They consciously expect the dream to last a long time and it does.
Then they have a second dream:
The person decides to accomplish a goal. They expect this dream to last long like the previous one, but they subconsciously associate the end of their goal with the end of the dream, thus cutting short the dream.

Am I understanding properly. If so, this is kind of frustrating because I don't see a solution to the problem.

Nothing happened between the two dreams. From his description, he was attempting different things during the second dream then he was in the first dream. It is possible to have the expectation to be able to do one thing but not have that same expectation to be able to do something else.

If there is a cause to a problem and we do not know what that cause is, then the cause is subconscious. In order to know what the cause is, it has to be conscious knowledge rather subconscious knowledge. In order to convert subconscious knowledge into conscious knowledge, we learn about ourselves. We learn about ourselves by finding patterns of cause and effect within ourselves. For example, I might find it difficult to summon women in dreams, analyze this, and find that during the day before I thought about how there is no women in my life.

Being conscious of the cause to the problem isn't a solution to it, but it does allow us to find a solution more efficiently because we can cater our solution to the root of the problem. I think there is less hit and miss this way.

I don't know why Xvaiuer subconsciously did not expect himself to be able to fly, but personally I tend to find it difficult to fly in dreams when I am feeling stuck in waking life.

I agree about subconscious expectations but could also be due to level of lucidity. Your levels of awareness both conscious and subconscious can contribute to your level of control. Some dreams you will have more access to your subconscious allowing you to achieve more and some dreams you won't. Picture it like 2 overlapping circles, one is your conscious and the other your subconscious. As they drift apart you get more conscious awareness (too much can make you wake up) with less subconscious action. As they drift closer together you get less conscious awareness and more subconscious (i.e. less lucidity). There is a happy balance that can be achieved unfortunately there's no easy way to gauge it.

When it comes to remembering your goals a good practice to put in place is to always pause for a second in your dream to remember your goal. If you make this a habit then you will always remember your goal. Some people have a routine they go through whenever they become lucid which looks like this: Pause > remember goal > (optional) stabilize > (optional) increase lucidity > proceed with goal.
