The next time i feel scared i will become lucid!

Iv decided to start the M.I.L.D technique again.Apart from the other things im doing i have started listing the emotions that i get from each dream into my dream journal.Iv tallied them up and 90% of all the dreams i have i go through a stage at some point where i feel scared.
Its weird because i dont have nightmares...its more like i have a dream where im lost in a foreign country and scared ill nevrr get home or maybe ill get into trouble...eneways
Iv never really fully commited to affirmations/mantras before and i dont like the idea of how most of them sound very obvious such as *tonight i will become lucid*....because i wonder *how will i get lucid* *what will be my trigger?*
I suppose my question is do you experienced or non experienced lucid dreamers think that my idea of using an emotion as a mantra would give me better results? Thanks =D

I like your idea of using the feeling of being scared as a dream sign.

Keep in mind that you have to learn this association before you have any chance of remembering it in a dream. It is possible to mindlessly repeat mantras and affirmations without actually learning anything.

I suggest following the MILD technique as described in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. I think this technique best describes the way to learn to associate dream signs with dreaming.

People learn best from different methods. Some people learn best by feeling and doing, others by seeing, others by hearing, and others by reading and writing. Finding out which way you learn best would probably help you learn to associate being scared with dreaming. Once you learn how you learn, you can adjust how you imagine the past dream while practicing MILD. For example, if you learn from feeling and doing, focus on the feel of being scared when imagining past dreams. If you learn from seeing, focus on the visuals of the dream. If you learn from hearing, repeat affirmations to yourself while reimagining the dream. If you learn from reading and writing, then you might want to write down your affirmations near the point in the written down dream that you were scared.

You're basically trying to learn from your mistakes of not associating being scared with dreaming during your dreams. Be steadfast, patient and obedient in your learning and you will achieve your goal.
