      I woke up this morning...

...with my eyes already open. I realized I was dreaming, like I do occasionally, and did everything I normally do to remain there. For a moment I thought everything was going perfectly fine till I became aware that what I was seeing wasn't a dreamscape at all, but my ceiling. And it burrrrned. I had to sit and blink for five minutes.

      Anyone ever had that happened?

Do you mean to say you fell asleep with your eyes open? And began not only dreaming but lucid dreaming, with your eyes still open??

      Dear Everstill,

In many instances the Higher Mind sees Lucidity as an invasion of its Turf, in which Dream Content is held sacred and inviolable, and where Lucid Dreamers enter only to Rape and Pillage. So, when you became Lucid, your Higher Mind simply shock you off and woke you up.

In order to achieve Lucid Dreaming, you need to make an agreement with your Higher Mind which forges a compromise between its desire to maintain some integrity of Dream Content, and your wishes to evercize some Dream Control. When you establish the correct mix, then you will have Lucid Dreams.

      Ex Nine: no.

Leo: thanks, i enjoyed reading that. however i have apparently acheived that mix many many times before.

i'd label this as something just gone slightly wrong.

i just wanted to maybe know if anyone else had experienced it--waking with open eyes.
