      WILD Help

I've had a successful WILD once almost 10 years ago. WILD has primarily been the only method of LD induction I've been practicing on and off for the past years. Lately though I can't even get past the first stage of WILD. To me getting past the first stage is when my body feels heavy/numb and I start to see abstract imagery + hear weird noises in my head (like a mountain exploding or a tinnitus ringing that becomes louder and louder). The past couple of years I've been able to get to the 2nd stage of WILD. I've never gotten to the point of dreaming since that one time 10 years ago. Recently, like within the past 6 months, I cannot even reach stage 2. I make about 10 thorough attempts per month, but my body won't even go numb anymore. It's like my physical senses just become more and more irritating, no matter how hard I try to ignore the urge to move around or scratch and itch. I've been getting what I think some people call a hell's itch whenever I start the 1st stage of WILD. I get itches so intense that even if I ignore them, they're simply too intense to move on to 2nd stage. So there's that.
Suppose I figure out this irritating problem and move on from it and am able to reach stage 2 again. I'm basically never able to reach the dream state after stage 2. I've trained myself to stay calm and focused once I start getting the sensations that I'm about to dream, but the sensations just become more and more intense. It's like I'm just about there; just about to dream, but then it all stops suddenly and I'm just laying there in bed wondering what happened. I've heard that I should try to imagine the scene for the dream I want in my WILD, but I still get booted out right before I'm about to dream. I've tried the imagining your scene method and not imagining anything at all, just going along for the ride. No results.
As you can see, I'm at a bit of a rut here. I won't stop adding to my theory paper as I continue to practice, but any thoughts or advice on the topic would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to have to treat this like a research project, so I'm going to read around the forums too. Thanks.

If you want to get into WILD and you're struggling to transition, I would recommend working on DEILD (Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream). DEILD is basically a quick and easy WILD, and it gives you experience in making a transition from waking state to dream state consciously.

The basic idea is, you wake directly from a dream, don't move or open your eyes, then hold the intention of going back into the dream aware, and repeat something like "I am going into a dream" over and over until you're back in dream. It happens really quickly. The only tricky thing about it is remembering not to move when you wake up, and timing can be a bit of a pain.

You can put your own spin on the technique depending on your needs, but here's a tutorial to get you going, if you're interested: DEILD - Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream

Thanks! I had actually forgotten about DEILD. I've done it a few times in the past, but never gave it much though or considered it as a LD method. I'll have to practice it from now on. Happy new year!

      I love DEILD, it's a miracle technique.
My transitions in DEILD are so fun too, it's like I'm being pulled through dimensions or something, but it feels like a rollercoaster.

Happy new year to you too, make it a good yin!
