I'm starting to wonder if we need a new topic about sharing your scariest moments in a dream? That said, One of the worst is the fever induce dreams for me. |

One of of these shock inducing dreams I did wake up in pain still lingering, but there were no physical injury. I resisted a ghostly entity just a little too much. She was very scary, but I stood strong reminding myself my waking body was very safe. The ghostly girl kept warning me to stop resisting and to give into fear. The two of us were in sort of a power struggle within the dream. Then she lets out a blood curdling scream with the whole dreamscape pulsing. I get giant lumps all over my body and dark spider-like creatures started rupturing out. I was in so much pain and was bleeding heavily. I actually thought I was going to die. I woke up from it still feeling the pain and went into shock. Perhaps my brain was misfiring signals? I had to be taken to the hospital. There were no physical injuries like in the dream though. I had dull pain allover for for a week following that, doctors were puzzled. This is one of the reasons I don't try to manipulate the dream when I'm lucid nowadays. Q^Q |

Well, it was still worse than the pain from getting my fingernails been ripped off without anesthesic (This was in reality) or some other bad shit that has happened before (including getting high degree burns) to me, so while I can't compare it to the real one at least can say it is very real like. |

I have a hard time understanding why people would choose to 'incubate unpleasant dream experiences' i guess there's the curiosity factor, ive dealt with exploding head syndrome for years (It sounds ridiculous but its similar to sleep paralysis) as I'm trying to slip into unconsciousness, hearing loud bangs or crashes before sleep ,sometimes the sensation of a electrical jolt passing through head or body..it is 100% not cool nor do I believe it's something you can manipulate (there's some research it could be linked to 'mini seizures' or strokes but dont think anything is set in stone in medical community) ..anyway I definitely think physical pain contributes or shapes nightmares (for me it's ongoing back pain) I try to keep a positive outlook about dreams (before sleep) unfortunately most of my experiences aren't good |
