Is this considered a CEV??

I am honestly not sure if I am on the right website, or if my assumption is close or way off..so forgive me.

*note: I have never, ever done any hallucinagenics. I am pretty dull really*

I will try to keep this short and to the point. I have had some very odd things happen within my vision *specifically* in darkness/behind closed eyes. For example, last night i was laying in bed, it was pitch black...and I had my eyes closed (I wasnt falling asleep or even close to). I then started to think about the last hand I had on my online poker game (by think, I mean daydream...like normal daydreaming) and then I noticed...I swear to you...a burnout image of what exactly I was daydreaming. Like I literally saw an afterimage form of a poker table and cards and then I opened my eyes and it was still there...like a quick afterimage about to fade out.

It was a visual manifestation of my memories in the form of burnout images.

It was brief, but it was odd.

The reason I question if this is the right site to be at is cause I wasnt dreaming, or lucid dreaming or even in hypnagogia...I just had my eyes closed...I wasnt even tired. I also question if this is considered a CEV...like level 4. I dont even know what that means, but the wiki description seems as close as I have found besides Hallucinatory Palinopsia... (which is typically the result of insidious brain disease...yeah, no).

Does my description coincide with CEV? Does anyone else here have the same thing happen?

Hey, I've only had that happen after I've been lying down with my eyes closed for a little while. It has only happened when I am somewhat tired, though, and there isn't really a burnout image. Did it just happen this one time? And how long did you see the image for both with your eyes closed and then open?

Maybe 10-20 seconds? The majority of that being with my eyes closed. Once I open my eyes it dissipates after maybe 3 seconds. Its happened twice that I can note.

What does CEV stand for? I understand it's a visual thing associated with hallucinogens, but what words do the initials stand for?

Closed eye hallucinations. They vary by levels. Anything from generalized static in the dark to images

They're saying it can be caused by sleep disruption. Don't worry about the fact it's on a schizophrenia message board - sometimes it gets diagnosed that way and I think it's also a symptom, but having it doesn't mean you're schizophrenic.
