What should I do in a hypogogic state/sleep paralysis?

So I haven’t had a lucid dream yet but I got significantly close last night but I didn’t know what to do. So I entered a hypogogic state and was hallucinating in my eyelids and my body went tingly and weird. I’ve been told to just wait a bit longer then youll enter sleep paralysis. Bu I want to know what to do once I enter paralysis, like do I open my real life eyes or what, do I try to picture me in a scene? Idk and any help would be great full

Ok so I don't get sp much lately but here's what worked for me. First tell yourself "you like this" (my personal touch) because part of it does feel scary and just that one phrase can make it positive feeling. Then try rolling out of bed, move an arm, or visualize a dream scene (Yea pretty much raduga tek). If you feel like Oops I fell out of bed half the time you are ap/Ld so try to check if ur awake. If you need more detailed info just msg me or check out raduga book it explains it better than me probably and worked pretty well for me before - got me the experience on the second day the first time I tried it

Relax and enjoy the ride, for starters. Don't push the river.
The more I gaze....the more I crave to see

When you next stand at cliff's edge....will you finally learn to fly?

In hypnagogic state, or in HH, you are most likely already asleep. You have achieved your goal to let your body asleep while keeping your mind aware.

First of all, HH are super cool and fun to observe. You can let them play out for fun, or at any time you can start entering a lucid dream. Before you do, there is another fun thing to try. Motionless RC (Reality Check). This will let you know for sure if you are awake or asleep.

You can try and move your arm just by thinking about it. If you are asleep, it will move, you will see this and realize you are asleep. Same way, you can try to do anything else just by thinking about it. If you have vision, try and change color or your wall, or move anything. If no vision, move your legs, sit up, stand up or roll out of your bed. Don't worry about falling out. If you not moving your muscles, only imagining the movement, nothing will happen if you are not asleep.

here you can find more ways to enter a WILD lucid dream, based on what kind of HH are you experiencing: https://www.dreamviews.com/wake-init...into-wild.html

      More about RCs: https://www.dreamviews.com/induction...hecks-rcs.html

Be aware, that you may not experience any HH or any indication that you are asleep, and you already may be asleep. Trying to wiggle your "inner body", trying to stand up or roll out at any time during your WILD attempt may surprise when you actually roll out into the dream, while you are still thinking that you are awake.

Oh, and I know that Sleep paralysis is a big thing on some other websites. But not here. SP is something we all enter after we start dreaming. It's to prevent us from moving and acting out our dreams in bed. We normally don't notice it, because by then we are asleep and dreaming, and that is the goal. SP is just something that happens at the same time. If you notice it though, stay calm, try to stand up or roll out into a dream.

      Happy travels!

If your arm moves without you moving it with your muscles, just by thinking about moving it, you are asleep. If you don't have vision, you can open your eyes and your dream eyes should open. If not, you can try and pry them open with your dream hands, or pretend you can't see because of the sunglasses and take them off while knowing that will give you vision.

As described in the above link, you can enter LD based on what is happening.

Do you see images or movies? That's a dream, go ahead and enter it. I pick a place in the dream scene and I say to myself with deliberate intent - I am there! That transports me inside the dream.

Do you see your room or any other place already around you? Stand up or roll out into it.

More important than any method of entering a dream is you knowing, that you are dreaming. Then, even without any HH you can just stand up into a dream. Also, with more experience, you will find your own ways of entering the dream.

So say i enter a hypnagogic state and I open my eyes, I see that I can move my arm with my mind, should I use my mind to stand up and move and change the scene etc. but what if I can’t move my arm.? Thanks

yes try to stand up and go explore the world. These techniques might be more ap techniques but whatever works right? If you can't move try to visualize a scene and try to put urself there, in the scene. Try to hear the sounds of it. If that fails try rolling out of bed then try to visualize rubbing your hands: hear the sound, sensation, picture it. And repeat different techniques that engage different senses.

But like gab said, if ur in hypnogigic state and see pictures that keep changing youre really close to dreaming so just stay put and u could end up in dream scene in few seconds or minutes..

Oh yea I mentioned separation techniques initially since you mentioned sleep paralysis, but you could totally do nothing at all. Just chill there if you are getting visuals and let nature take it course.

**Just go sleeeeeeep if you fail***

I think that applies to both wbtb wild or raduga style. Where in both techniques you get some sleep, do techniques (right as u wake up for raduga, and right as you drift asleep for wild). If you fail go to sleep and try again next time.

Oh and don't try to open your eyes first it might wake you up or make you see scary things. Try to move first. You will begin to see things even though your eyes are closed.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I wouldn't worry much about “eyes” at all. Once you enter your dream state (and you will, eventually, once you've been asleep long enough), you'll see imagery, period. It will form all by itself without any need for you to do anything, just as it does in all nonlucid dreams. No need to be too concerned with what either your waking-life or dream body eyes are doing. If you've managed to properly keep lucidity until you reach REM, it should be obvious when you've entered your dream. In my experience, when I go from non-dream to dream state lucidly all I have to do is wait until I notice the dream world materialize around me, and once it appears reasonably stable and complete I'm ready to go and have fun.
