^^ Well done, Daniel; I thought the finger thing was a joke about all those "ILD's" for quite a while, given how silly it sounds (at least to my ears). Here's to hoping there are still a few willing minds out there... |

FILD is something of a mind-virus in the lucid dreaming community, a shoddy technique that gets passed along due to the naivety of newbies and the power of placebo. |

I did not know it had actual videos. I thought of it as just some dumb internet joking. I made PILD, preyer induced LD, as a serious/joke? And BILD BurritoILD when indegestion is somehow used to get lucid. Focus is a far better term for the F if we could vote. FILD would still be nothing more than the anchor aspect of a WILD mindset. Great video, if a little harsh on the poor kids trying to teach. I think they are taking a real method and not understanding it. It should not get a name, every method does not get a name, but the training goes like this: you naturally wake, or have a snooze alarm set that shuts off with a touch. I use the two biggest toes on my right foot for this. As I have never moved or fully woke, I am at risk of a plunge into darkness (mission failed), by slowly flexing, as needed, in the way described, my toes, I can prevent sleep from happening. I can hang on the edge of physical sleep but not allow it to occur with the simple physical motion of my toes. If the fight to fall into darkness is great, I will bring in the other foot and maybe a hand. Hanging on the edge this way I can choose when to loose touch with the body and I want images started and thought in a dream like reality. Think of this as subtle volume control for physical wakefulness giving small ability to time/delay the transition. You make cool videos man, I will check more out. |

I never put any serious thought into it and shrugged it off as meaningless at least to me. But if someone likes it and can make it work for them, cool, whatever works for someone, works, I guess. |

For me FILD doesn't work the way is described, actual physical movement makes me too alert and unable to fall asleep, but there is a better way to do FILD, instead of actually moving your fingers one can execute a phantom moving. A phantom moving is when you have an real intention to move your fingers without using your physical muscles, you don't need to imagine the movement, just do it. When do it correctly the phantom movement has a similar or the same sensation to the physical movement, you must not try too hard, because it will be contra productive. After a while you can try a reality check or a separating technique(the rope, floating, falling, roll out) can be attempted. Phantom moving is different than FILD because is backed up by science. |
