Dream Character Incubation

Salutations, oneironauts. Does anyone have any reliable methods for making specific dream characters appear? It doesn't even have to be instant, just something that would significantly increase the chances. What I'm trying now is mantras by saying "X character will be in my dream". I just started yesterday and I know that it takes a bit of time to get going, I just wanted to get people thoughts on methods they have for this. I should clarify that I'm looking for methods that don't require lucidity. If I were lucid then I'd just spawn them in lmao

If you're curious, I keep something I call a Dream Entity Compendium where I record interesting entities I find in my travels to the dreamscape. Think of it like a dream pokedex. Or SCP, I guess. Anyways, I'm trying to summon one of the entities in it so that's why it's relevant.

I tried for a very long time about 20 years back to summon or find my real life crush to pretend she liked me and go on a date/ make out. It never did work. I am not sure why it was just not happening. In a final dream that was very profound she found me. She asked me not to carry a picture of me in my heart. I was stunned and never looked for her again. I think my mistake was that I could not believe she would be with me. I went walking around locations she might be or tried to summon her. I still had a world view where it was not realistic, much like trying to fly in a dream for the first time. I would have done better to come up with a story that would explain why she would be somewhere and why it would be realistic for her to like me. Perhaps I had become famous and she was at the premier of my movie?

Some years ago I tried a technique, which I had seen here on DV: Narrating a story, which implied the appearance of a specific dream character. The only effort of this sort, that I actually remember, went like this:

Me: "... and the next thing that happened was that [name of person] appeared right behind me!"
Unexpected booming voice from somewhere beyond: "No!"

I hate being told off by my own dream. :)

EDIT: Of course, this technique requires lucidity, so it is not an incubation method.
