How Do I Get to The next level of Lucid Dreaming

Hey all. So it looks like I’m making another post asking for help haha. Basically I’d say my main problem is I’ve gotten ok at inducing lucidity but I just seem to wake up so quickly. Sorry I know there’s probably lots of other threads on this. I guess my question is how do I reach the next level? It feels like the dream is ending of it’s own accord, not because I’m too excited or anything, like I just keep getting lucid at the end of my REM period or something? This has been happening for years, like 50+ 5 second lucids. Any thoughts?

Are you sure that you are really waking up? I sometimes have false awakenings after becoming lucid.

If it’s to do with you getting lucid at the end of a cycle then the solution would be to simply get lucid closer to the start of the cycle instead. Consistent, regular reality checks may help you become lucid earlier in the dream Or you could try to WILD at the start of a cycle?

I know that when we are getting back into lucidity it is important to have cognitive clarity and situational awareness in our lucid dreams. I think it is normal to have time distortion in your dreams and lucid dreams. What I mean is our dreaming experience can be very different for everyone. Consistent, regular reality checks may help you become better aware of the detail and help you stay present in your dream.
Not to say that you can't have longer lucid dreams but, it may be the way you are perceiving time in your Lucid dreams? I would like to think of it as Time = the speed of thought. I mean I know when we are engaged in our lucid dreams, time can feel faster. And yes, even the best of lucid dreamers have short lucidity at times. (IMO)
That is just my two cents...

Wow these are interesting ideas you guys bring up. I feel I'm not having false awakenings because I know what those are like..and I wouldn't think it's the way I'm perceiving time, but these are both possible I guess. My original guess was actually that it has to do with expectation, like it's become a self fulfilling prophecy because I expect to wake up. What do you all think of that?

Honestly, We don't know your Sleep patterns so, that could be the case. How often do your Journaling? Have you tried mapping out your sleep pattern?

Well I do try to be consistent with journaling, although sometimes I slip up. I used to watch a lot of Daniel Love's videos. He talks about how you have to treat it like working out, or gardening, so when you're consistent with RCs and journaling it sows seeds to lucidity, and I think he has the right idea there. In fact, I do believe because of this I've been having more lucids than ever before, and I've had a few semi-WILDs or DEILDS. I think what has stopped me is I moved to a new place that I kind of don't like so it's made me discouraged about everything in life and my dreams too, but now I'm looking for a new place, so I feel a little better. I guess dreams and waking life are really closely intertwined..I've never mapped it out that always sounded hard haha..but that's a good idea. I usually just naturally wake up in the middle of the night and have to use the bathroom so I generally just use that as an opportunity to try and WILD.

Whenever I feel as though I am losing lucidity, or my dream is becoming hazy the following has worked for me to maintain lucidity for long peroids of time
      1. Meditate within the dream
      2. Stare at something, anything i.e. rock, branch, apple
      3. Reality checks
