Loud ceiling fan?
I have to sleep with a fan on or else I burn up at night. The only problem is that it's a bit loud. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but is it possible that it can affect my ability to lucid dream negatively? I do get regular dreams when it is on.

I sleep with a fan on and it’s never been an issue. In fact it can act as a good anchor if you’re trying to have a WILD. On rare occasions I’ve been able to hear my fan from within the dream but it’s never woken me up.

The sound itself should not be a problem as long as you can sleep. If you are in a lucid and start to hear the fan I suggest you make the dream contain something that convinces your brain that the sound is inside the dream. Example: you start to hear the fan and in the dream you decide it is the sound of a fan in the room with you in the dream. Joke with yourself about how you created the fan because the dream was stuffy. maybe see something in the shadows and decide it is the fan. This prevents you from thinking about the external world, and with practice you can keep dreaming through very loud obnoxious noises.
