But retention is probably lower than we might expect. People come and go, but their registration stays. How many of those users are active, and what measure would we use for activity?

In the few years since DV was created, 445 (or a bit less than 10% of) registered users have 50 posts or more. Considering the volume of open questions and topics there are to talk about in lucid dreaming, 50 posts is not beyond a meaningful measure for active interest. Incrementally below 50, the number of users skyrockets inversely to the post count, with the largest number of users having 1 post. Although it's interesting to note that that's not the absolute tail end, for there are almost as many users who registered and then never posted.

2987 (or about 63% of) users have five posts or lower. The calculations are slightly off because new users joined and other users raised their post count as the calculations themselves were taking place, but it is not off enough to change the percentage.

However, there are also "lurkers," who simply do a lot of reading and rarely, if ever, participate, which I don't understand. Is it because nothing has given them reason to? Or are they shy? Lurkers are pretty hard to interview. ;)

I am very thankfull to have found this resource. Even though I am moderalely skilled in lucid dreaming, it has given me great pleasure to focus my mind on something so removed from our mundane world.

Also, the people posting are almost without exception polite, helpfull and supportive in a way I rarely encounter outside of the cyber world. I truly am gratefull for these interactions.

I love Dream Views and the people in here soooooooo increadibly much. Words are not enough. I would be a different person today if I was nto here. there are some members that I have grown extreamly close to and that I can say have changed my life. I lvoe you all!
