Ive just hit a slump in my dream recall

Before I read about LD's my dream recall was cack. The i read about LD's and i would remember loads of dreams, now for the last couple of days my dream recall has gone back to the way it used to be except i still have a couple of pictures from the drams in my head. Ive even resorted to an alarm going off in the middle of the night, only I keep waking up before it goes off, seriously Ive tried it so many times! Little help please!
I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .

First of all, don't get all stressed out about it -- that's just going to make it worse.

I think that most of us go through slumps like that from time to time. Sometimes it's the result of not getting enough sleep, or being worried about things in real life -- other times it may just be a natural cycle taking place.

You might want to take a break from actively trying to recall your dreams or becoming lucid for a few days or even a week or two. When you come back to it, you'll have a fresh perspective, which can be helpful. Plus you may find that recall or even lucidity will come back suddenly when you're not even trying.

Finally, what helps me to remember my dreams is to use the MILD method when first going to sleep. As you are lying in bed, repeat to yourself "I will awaken after I dream, and I will remember my dream". Give this a try for a few nights, if you haven't already.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

hey ive had the same exact problem. My dream recall was pretty good about 3 weeks ago, but now its terrible. I do sometimes see pictures in my head which remind me of a lil bit of a dream but its not enough for me to remember the whole dream. I guess its becuase i got too lazy and stopped recording my dreams in a journal. hopefully our luck will change.

Yes, that's likely it. I've noticed a very strong correlation between dream journaling and recall both in myself and others. I have yet to see a clear instance where they have not been strongly connected.

Is there something else in your mind that consumes your thoughts so much to the point that you have little room to remember dreams? It sort of has happened with me. It's like a pressure cooker, can't put too much in at once.

      I know what you mean.

My recall went down a bit over the past couple of days. I could only remember about 1 short dream a night, or maybe none.

Then last night went to sleep and after I woke up I remembered about 5 vivid dreams, and wrote them all down. It was the most dreams I ever recorded for one night! And I'm amazed that I remembered them all in full detail in the morning, and what order I had them each in.

Just keep sleeping, and don't stress about it.

woo I remembered 2 longer dreams and a couple of small dreams. One of them was me shooting some bad guy cowboys in the old west, before getting into my futuristic car. Another was meeting some hot alien chick, weird dream but cool at the same time.
