Psychologically weight in dreams tend to be your suboncscious signifying difficulty with whatever it is you are trying to pick up or push, etc. In the case of a gun, it could mean that you are finding something in your life difficult to execute (probably because you think it would hurt another person). It mostly depends on how you feel about the gun, and further details about the dream.
Another example would be pushing a heavy rock up a hill, which signifies someone finding it too hard to move on in life. It seems pretty obvious sometimes.
Spiritually weight could signify that you have reached the comprehension of tangency and the awareness to recognised gravity(because that's what weight essentially is) in the dream world.
Also, as I discussed with Lucius lately, if the dream world is the "astral plane" then it is simply the way the astral plane portrays itself to you. An enviroment presented to you in the manner of which you have been conditioned to live within (gravity namely here).
There's, of course, endless possibilities of what it could mean, just as many as what the dream world is. I wish there were ways to cast MRI's on someone while they were lucid dreaming..
Hope I've been enlightening
I had a concept of weight in a dream few weeks ago. I was carrying a stone pedestal up the stairs in some museum. It was really really heavy...
but that's the only time I felt weight in a dream...
I tested weight in a dream a couple of weeks ago. I picked up a huge rock and it weighed about as much as a balloon. Things can be heavy too. It just depends on what you want them to be.
I suppose it's just what you expect. If you are faced with this huge boulder that you have to move, and you are currently in the body of a normal, weak 4-year-old, you will expect it to be heavy- and therefore it probably will be.
Although if the 4-year-old had superpowers, you would expect it to be light (or lighter). And so it would be.
Or, if you were the world's strongest man, it would also be light, because you expect it to be. Etc. etc.
Thats a good question. I think the idea of weight in our dreams depends on us. If we decide to pick up an Airplane and it weights nothing at all then thats because our sense of belief is logical enough to determine that this is just a dream and the laws of Physics doesn't apply in this world. For instance What goes up must come down in reality right. Well in a LD what goes up can stay up and never come down, including oneself.
Another factor in this case would be sometimes your dream body can sense your physical body within that dream ever wondered why sometimes if you're running in a dream you feel like you're running in slow motion or that its hard to run. Thats because you're intact with your phyiscal body which is under sleep paralysis at that moment, and of course you can't really run if you're laying down let alone lift your arms; well sometimes....
Weight is how we percieve it...sometimes in a dream i will be running from...lets just say...WerBurN, and he will be really scarry, and my left foot will be extreemely heavy and i can't move it.
Or I will try to jump over a gap in a bridge, and i will float to the sky...because i thought about it subconsciously.
confuses me sometimes, and i wake up.

:holyshit: Wow!!!! Lowercase thats scarry that you've mentioned that. I had that exact dream that I was running from WerBurn also. He kept singing this creepy ass song. Something like "I am the Muffin Man the Muffin Man the Muffin Man". and it was like one of those Munchkins voices like from the Wizard of Oz, damn that shit freaked me out. And right before he caught up with me I woke up in a cold sweat. Man thats the worse dream of my life... HAHA!!!
you gotta be making that up... lol.
Thats crazy
I have weight sensations in many dreams. I can control most of it, however there are some instances where my legs will not move fast becasue they seem very heavy. In these instances, I believe I am actually trying to move my legs in bed, and the weight manifests itself in my dream, but 100x.

what was that!?
I have never really thought about weight in my dreams. And for that reason I would have to say, no I have never felt weight. I know I have felt other things, a gentle touuch, heat, cold. I will have to pay more attention to that.
