are there ways of keeping the thoughts throughout the night without losing them?
The self-hypnosis exercise is usually good for me. Concentrate on what it is that you want to dream about. State it out loud with focused intent. And then let it be your thought as you drift into sleep.
Id say drink a lot of water, and when you have to wake up and pee, immediately write down any random thoughts.
figure out why you wrote them down later...
