Nightmares
A dream known most to all of us is the nightmare. It is one of our most valuable teaching dreams because it shows us a fear that has been blown way out of proportion or something we have supressed that is affecting us in a negative way. Often we do not remember the happy dreams. But the scary ones will make more of an impression and we will be more inclined to work them out.
Ever had a dream where your being chased. What you are avoiding is the problem. If you cant get your legs to move in a dream or you are moving in slow motion. you will soon have to confront whats chasing you. You are putting yourself through all of this. Next time just remember to turn around and confront what it is its really an aspect of yourself. Make peace and the nightmare will be gone.
-
What happens when you turn around and face the nightmare and it immediatly knocks you down with a fist the size of your entire body? :?
-
exactly what i was thinking...
-
You were thinking this have you tried this. My point is.. for me it has worked. Something people dont know is the nightmare is just an aspect of yourself you are struggling with yourself. Once you figure this out you can have better quality dreams.

I usto have alot of stress relate nightmares, but they were more like bad situations, and several car crass nightmares, but never a super beast or psyco killer.....I've actually never had those, what do you think these entities represent? Is it symbolic? Or do you think it's a real demon of some kind?
-
Ive figured it out
Im trying to look at it this way. Its just simple fear. Trying to determine what it is may be hard because its really my creation or energy thats scaring me. I havnt had a dream like this for a while the past 4 nights have all been great new experiences. When we explore higher planes of awareness its natural to be scared of unfamiliar realities. Just remember its all in your own twisted head.
-
That makes sense, I guess fear is errational and it dose'nt matter what it's attached to it's simply fear....Sometimes I feel weaker in my lucid dreams about confronting fear than in real life, because in dreams I know it's not real and I'm still afraid.
-
 srry, wrong thread.
how did THAT happen?!

I would like to think that those things are demons or something, to think that some of the things I have faced come from my own subconsious scared the effin crap out of me... The thing is most of the time I am not afraid of them, its just a matter of pushing them back or destroying them. Well sometimes they scare the crap outa me, but I acknowledge the fear and face it, or run screaming like a little girl... err I mean make a tactical retreat, and figure out what to do.

nightmares
I have to agree with Curios. Nightmares are usually good learning experiences. After having so many of them, I've learned to sometimes change my fear into anger which tends to empower me to overcome the fear. Anger seems to take so much energy though, so that is why I often use music which seems to soothe (music that is emotionally positive -no metal, :x goth, or depressing stuff... I've tried it, but it usually only increases the energy-draining feeling).
Have any of you had dreams where you feel fear, but when you become lucid, you end up wondering what for? -there's no blood, no gore, nobody chasing you, no freaky faces, or impending death/injury... -just an overwhelming sense of fear, as if someone has injected your veins with fear solution. :? Too trippy. I have several dreams where I am confronting a person -usually it's too dark for me to see the face and he seems to emanate fear. There is nothing apparently fearful about him -he just seems to have a negative aura or something, sucking up all the positive ions -like a fear vampire or something...
-
Definatly, I learn from them all the time... I gotta say though in my experience I lose focus if I start letting myself get angry Im kinda scared actually of what might happen if I get really angry ,if it works for you thats awsome :D, there is alot of power in anger, but be verycareful its hard to control.
-
*ahem* metal, goth, and so called "depressing" music has an emotionally positive effect on me...
-
-
uh, hehe, eh heh,
NO KIDDING.
that is the whole idea of lucid dreaming.
-
Hmmm. Usually in my dreams I am the nightmare. HeHeHe

Speaking of...
If the end result of you becoming a nightmare... something so horrible, non human, something that all of humanity could not relate to, im not talking like the monsters of history like Hitler or any of the other nasty humans, I mean a real beast...But something on a scale that could if given time, wipe out humanity...
Would you become that monster if you knew that it would bring all of humanity together, in the common goal of survival and your eventual destruction, allowing everyone to realise "hey we are all the same and in it together" and bring about an age of Peace, and understanding, a renaissance of science and spirituality...
Would you become that monster?
