Comrade Sam's first! Hooray!
November 11, 2005 was my first lucid expierence, and I must say, I believe I've learned something from it about one's personal "dream set" as I have some to call it.
This is how it begun. Basic dream happened, wandering around a warehouse fixing stuff then stepped out a pair of big double doors, you know, the ones you see in local retail stores that normally say "EMPLOYEES ONLY". Well, I stepped out, and I happened to step out of the doorway of my old house (father's in the military, so we've been in several houses recently). Over in the carport to my right, I hear sounds and it seemed my dad was packing the car, he told me we were going on a trip somewhere.
This is where the lucidity came in though. I stepped around the car to help my mom when, in place of her was someone she actually really dislikes, along with me, and that's when it hit. This was all wrong.
I stepped onto the sidewalk and I started to get really excited, I mean like ecstatic, then everything got fuzzy for a second. I reminded myself that I would wake up if I wasn't careful, so I stopped and began to stare at my hands to focus, going down to my shoes.
"I have to figure ths out." I told myself so I looked around. Everything had frozen in place as soon as I realized I was dreaming so I leapt high into the air, easily over 50 feet. I stayed in place for probably a 1 minute which allowed me to look around.
I noted something interesting though. Apart from what I could see on the ground, from like where I was standing to the horizon, it was more like a set. All the houses and people and everything were normal, but within, say about a football field's length, it seemed to fade out, though the horizon stayed in place. Outside that area was nothing but gray space.
For a few weeks, I was trying to take apart the dream and figure out what it meant, then it hit me. Think of all of the actions, reactions, sensations, and all that jazz that goes on within a football field's radius of yourself, then imagine the brain power it takes to create all of these, and all of the sensations that happen to you, it's overwhelming.
In conclusion, I'm saying that some dreams, maybe not all, are within a small area so the mind doesn't get overwhelmed with so much stuff. Maybe this has been talked about before, I dunno.
