      I probably sound like a n00b but...

How are all you guys attempting to do obe's? I tried last night with no real plan and it didn't work at all.

I have never attempted an OBE. From what I understand, an OBE can be dangerous and leaves you open to attack from outside forces. Some of you that are more knowledgeable on this subject might want to comment here.

I am still learning, and might attempt one in another 6 months to a year. I feel I will be ready by then.

Check out the 'Astral Projection' links in the Tutorial forum, the resources these lead to ( in particular the downloadable e-books ) are a great help in clarifying the right steps to take.

Trying this all myself atm, I have to warn you it can all be very disconcerting when it starts to 'work' ( never succeeded myself as I chickened out, I could feel all the energy rushing up through my body and my heart was beating at an insane speed, as a first experience it all just proved too much for me )

Yes, the downloable treatise on AP is, in my opinon, the best resource you'll get for it. Covers everything- chakras, planes, troubles you may have, any "dangers", the alice in wonderland effect, and includes meditation techniques and ways to improve it. Pretty much holds you hand at the start, even with no skills whatsoever, until you reach a point where you can DO IT, and then it goes into depth about all the things you can do and experience.

OH, and dude, that was your heart chakra. And that's good. That's good!

Kudos for providing those links, they helped out a lot.

Yeah, reading up afterwards I became familiar with the concept of Chakras and realised my concern was unfounded - although at the time I thought I was heading for a Cardiac arrest! It's still a little strange to consider that this frantic beating was my heart Chakra as opposed to my actual heart, but I'm gradually coming to grips with it all.
