There are several of these out there. It is no surprise. I, however, don't believe that you would need to purchase anything to help in lucid dreaming...except maybe a notebook for a dream journal and a pen or pencil.
It doesn't bother me to be honest. I might've said that it is obvious that this is a scam anyway, but people already admitted to falling for this in another thread.
What complete bullshit, you gotta feel for those genuinly trying to learn to LD though, the ones that dont know any better at this point.
*shrugs* Stephen LaBerge must make a killing off of book sales, seminars, etc.
as long as they deliver what they promise, i see nothing wrong with it. it would be a shame if someone was put off lucid dreaming because they got scammed, or misinformed by some greedy bastard.
the main reason i love this site so much is because its a bunch of people freely sharing their knowledge to disseminate info on such a cool concept.
this guy is trying to make people think the only way to lucid dream is by finding out the secrets nobody else knows but him. makes me want to spread info about lucid dreaming before it gets commercialized like this. LaBerge studied this stuff and setup the basics for learning to lucid dream by writing a few books that are ALOT cheaper than the $60 this guy is asking for. You could buy Lucid Dreaming AND Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by LaBerge for alot cheaper than $60.
It's not great that he's doing this, but we can stop him. You'd have to be an idiot to buy this without researching the subject anyway. So the people who but it deserve to be ripped off. :D
I read the entire page and he is good at what he does. Writing that is. I found one mistake that he can be caught from. Near the end of add is this:
[[[ BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

And we don't have minimum order levels or make you wait for quarterly commission checks: we pay you instantly via PayPal after just 35 days. We also store your details on the visitor's computer as a permanent cookie, meaning you get your money even if the visitor buys weeks later.

If the guy can deliver results to the consumer I see nothing wrong. (Aside from the blaring sales pitch.) At the very least he has raised awareness.
no, it is wrong to do this, because like we know, lucid dreaming doesn't come naturally for everyone so how can he guarantee in 7 days you will have one? Also, lucid dreaming is free all over the internet, this guy is just exploiting peoples lack of understanding of the subject and making them pay to find out more, i strongly disagree with this guy, i reckon we should attack his offer and bring him down, its wrong in my opinion
Nothing wrong with making money. But I hate self-help gurus - exploiting people's weaknesses/ desires whatever. Especially when the info is available for free... however some people need to spend money on courses - as they are then more likely to stick with it?
He is also making false claims - e.g. you can't easily lucid dream for eight hours a night!
Also he probably got his 'secrets' from DV - e.g. the two-word secret mantra to increase lucidity = "Increase Lucidity!" ???
Hey guys, this thead is one year old.
lol, i didn't know it was that old, i thought it was a few days
It's your forum. It's set to sort by thread title in an ascending order. It has to be Last Post Time and descending order.
You can set it at the buttom of the forum page.
Oh yes! *doh* Is it somehow against dv etiquette?
I sometimes wish more old threads would be ressurected rather than starting a new one on exactly the same topic that's already been discussed at length. Laziness I suppose, and the search facility ain't too sophisticated (U can't search for 'RC' for example). Wouldn't it be great if the system was intelligent enough to automatically hyperlink keywords, create topic maps etc?
Well, no not really, but this particulare thread does only stir up more shit.
I've done the course... BUT I didn't pay for it. AND I didn't get any lucids in 7 days. I've been trying for almost 12 years for a lucid so I'm not totally surprised that it didn't deliver on the promise, how could it possibly. If it were just that easy everybody would be doing it, no problem. His course doesn't give you anything that any of the other books haven't so far, it's just a little more condensed is all, more point-form-ish. I'd still say it's an excellent tool for anyone who wants to get started... but I wouldn't say that everyone should have to pay for it. Yarrr... Pirates have at it. Bittorrent sites have it all over the place, as well as a 3 day course too. I've downed them all. I don't reccomend stealing but if it helps you maybe you could pay for it, let your conscience be your guide.
I did however order the DVD from Saltcube, that one I think is a keeper.
I'm going to "share" it with the world whenever it arrives. I'm all about spreading the good word, not about making people money. That being said, again if it's a good resource throw the author a bone, eh? We all have to eat, do we not?
Goldmember: [picking skin off his back] Ooh yesh. Yesh yesh yesh yesh. This is a keeper.
Dr. Evil: Aaaall right... you're not going to put that skin in your mouth, are you?
Goldmember: [eats piece of skin]
Dr. Evil: You did... ok... that's just gross.
[Mini me cringes and shakes head]
Goldmember: Yesh, salty. Yesh that was good.
LOL!
Goldmember: Would you like a shmoke und a pancake?
Austin Powers: A what?
Goldmember: A shmoke und a pancake. You know, a flapjack und a shigarette? No? Shigar und a waffle? No? Pipe und a crepe? No? Bong und a blintz? No? Well, then there ish no pleashing you.
Austin Powers: That's not right...

I would never buy it, but the thing that got me is the The ULTIMATE lucid dreaming tool - and you probably already have it! thing because I think it is like V8 juice, but I would like to know what it is, because here in the UK I can't find any V8 juice!
Meh.
While maybe the marketing hype is a tad bit annoying, I don't think this type of product is bad or anything. If people are able to use it and have lucid dreams then more power to them and the creator of this product. My guess is most use it after not having success with more free, organic methods (inductions techniques, etc.) and so this is something that offers and hopefully delivers results at a point when they're feeling hopeless.
On another point -
I think his product mainly works by just making you really believe you're going to have a lucid dream. Basically a placebo effect, much like taking sugar pills that you think are going to treat your sickness and magically, the symptons disappear. Putting a financial investment into it makes the placebo effect even stronger.
HEY! Wait a minute!!
I think this URL might contain a referral ID in it.
Notice it's:
http://www.lucid-dreaming-kit.com/lu...aming/?int=GGL
and not:
http://www.lucid-dreaming-kit.com
Notice that last part "int=GGL"? Looks like this is an affiliate ID inserted into the URL address, which is how referrals are kept track of.
HMMMMMMMMM.
I could be wrong.
I hope so.
It'd be really ironic if this post about making money off of lucid dreaming was actually a post that ended up making money for the original poster.
!
For those of you looking for the nifty short cut:
I have a beautiful bridge to sell. Great location in a major metropolitan city, FANTASTIC view of historic Brooklyn. I'm getting tired of the maintenance. If you become the new owner, you can put up toll booths and make back your initial expense in short order. Only serious inquiries welcome....
