Most Successful Method?
What's the most successful method in attaining lucidity for you?
I know about WILDs, DILDs, HILDs and a few others, but what works best for you? And have you tried all of them? Can you tell me about what happened?
I'm a beginner. I have tried to WILD twice, but to no avail. The first time, it just wasn't working(i think i was too awake) and I just gave up. Second time, I just fell asleep. It just seems so difficult, to focus the mind and concentrate so hard. I think it's gonna be a problem for me because my mind has a tendancy to wander away.
So please enlighten me here. I'm desperate to get at least ONE lucid dream as soon as possible. It sounds so marvellous. Please give me a little glimpse of hope, you mavericks.

Well I'm no Maverick :-p but maybe I can enlighten you a bit. I got interested in LDing like around christmas time... I read LaBerge's book, and discovered this website. I tried sooooo hard to LD at first, I thought about it like 24/7, kept a dream journal, was on this website all the time, did reality checks compulsively hehe. However I didn't really see any results other than increased dream recall. I lost motivation after a few weeks, and stopped doing RCs and dream journaling. However, I still try to remember my dreams as soon as I wake up, and I've been tryign to keep myself in a critical state of mind at all times.... Always watching out for things that are odd, and questioning whether I'm sleeping or not. Lately I have started seeing some results from this more passive method. I had my first quasi-lucid dream a little while ago: I kept telling myself it was just a dream, but unfortunately I didn't fully understand what that meant.
You will definately see results faster if your thoughts are occupied by dreaming, but don't expect too much too soon or you will get frusterated and lose motivation like I did. Take your time, get your dream recall up, do RCs, always observe your surroundings critically, and you'll see results within a few months I promise =D

well i know that for beginner WBTB and MILD are the easiest to learn and seem to have to most success for beginners. However a good amount of people seem to have success with WILDs and some with HILD.
