      Do you dream during naps?

I'm kind of tired, but I feel like sleeping right now would be a waste because I won't be tired tonight when I could be dreaming. Does anybody know if you dream during naps?

Naps, for most people, are usually an ever better time for dreams than nighttime sleep. Dreams are typically more vivid, with a higher chance of becoming lucid. Go for it

As both ravenqueen and DuB pointed out. It is one of the best times. Provided you can find somewhere quite.
I believe it is because your conscious is more alert during this time as opposed to when you are tire and you go to sleep.
It is easier to provoke the conscious into activity.

      oh hell yeah

some of the best LDs I ever had were during naps, especially if I was really sleep deprived the night before, because then I sleep really deep during the nap

I also seem to have alot more HI when I'm about to nap, which I guess theoritically would help my WILDs, I dunno...I'm gonna test that now that you brought this napping stuff up

      Naps

My best lucid dreams are after waking up for some time. But I usually don't sleep enough anyways to feel rested. And I'm too busy to break in the middle of a day.

mm.... well I live in a college dorm, it's pretty noisy around here 24/7 (which pretty much keeps me from WILD'ing ), but then again that might help trigger lucidity because it's keeping my mind more aware. Thanks for the advice, I'll definately give napping a try tomorow if I have time =D

As many already know I tend to stay up late and the get up early. I like to nap after I get everyone taken care of and on their way. ( My hubbie and kids)So being sleep deprieved I get up in the early morning and then nap late morning. Makes it easy to LD for me. As for being in a dorm I believe if its noice you are use to it can be overcome. I've lived some pretty loud places and had been able to overcome it. It does take time.

That looks like an awful fast car to drive asleep!

There were two old ladies driving to poker night. As they proceeded they went right through a stop sign. The passenger was obviously a little shaken, She thought it may have just been a mistake. Further on the old lady ran through a red light.
The passenger, exasperated said, do you realize that you had ran a stop sign and then just ran through a stop sign???

The old lady driver replied. AM I driving?

I love to nap because I have some really vivid dreams during those times. And I have better recall as well. But I usually feel groggy after naps, so I try not to take them very often.

I have heard that joke a long time ago but it still made me chuckle after not hearing it for so long. My hubbie and Neighbor agree.

I have got into the habit of napping everyday after I get home from work.
I usually smoke a spliff and then go to sleep for a couple of hours.
I have never had an LD doing this but I have had an FA and alot of my dreams are very vivid when I nap.

Sigh... Clearly I am the only one around here who never has LDs when napping.

In fact, I don't really dream at all when napping.

My imagination's lively enough at night though. Go figure.

      No lucid dreams in naps.

You know what I really think it comes down to is that a person is basically given an alotted amount of time to dream per hour of sleep. Dreaming in naps might supplement what is lost at night. It really is clinically proven that not dreaming is harmful to your health.

That is not true. I do not LD when napping. But I can\'t nap during daylight hours.

I don't really nap...I'm not sure why, but during the day I can never seem to fall asleep, no matter how tired I am.

But when I do occasionally fall asleep during the day...I don't usually dream. But when I do dream, they're usually short, but vivid dreams.

Bah, my st00pid lil cousin (I'm sure he's around here somewhere, you suck Gui ) actually started getting WILDs on naps automatically (without knowing about lucid dreaming at all).

I've tried a couple of times, but being busy not losing my conciousness I failed to fall asleep at all on each try, so I've given up seeing as I was wasting my time. >.>
